What other mods do you have installed? It must be a conflict with one of them, I'm thinking, one that also uses pcastellazzi's mana functions.

Hmmm...hard to know what to do. I have kevlahnota's, thefiremind's, and RiiakShiNal's mods installed (just the core dlc's, not the decks, that is). I don't experience any excessive slowdown with my setup. I know with some of my decks, the AI will spend more time thinking. This is intended, as I wanted the AI to behave a little more intelligently (e.g. using Fauna Shaman) then it did previously. Obviously, I don't want it to be prohibitively slow, though.

Yea I pretty much have all the mods listed in the forum, I remember seeing someone else's deck that had BoP, and it seemed to work (though I think you have to reselect the mana color each time), but maybe that's causing the conflict. I'll have to go through again and find which deck it was, I have so many decks now haha

Well, for anyone who's having trouble with the new mana functions and is able to repack the .wad file, here are my old versions of Birds and Hierarch. Hopefully that will address the problem until I can figure out what's going on.

Ok...since I got SO many decks with all the iPad DLC on this forum, and I tend to kinda stick with one deck until I feel like I've got a really good grasp on it, AND I have to share the iPad with the wife whenever she wants to play (hey...I can't complain, it got her into Magic in the first place, which let me get BACK into paper Magic.)

Anyway...I just BARELY played this deck for the first time about 20 minutes ago. I've played it a couple more times since, and let me just say, this deck is just plain STUPID retarded.

And I mean that in an ever so nice way.

Honestly, you can probably attribute it to my absence from Magic for so long (I've got a 4 digit DCI number, but took a break from around Exodus until the RtR pre-release last weekend...) but once you get an Eldrazi out, it seems like it's pretty much all over. I found myself skipping attacking to prolong the fun and just build an massive army of Eldrazi creatures able to annihilate my opponent's entire playing field upon attack.

Well, let's just say that I think your deck breaks the AI. It actually gives up hope. How do I know this? Because once I got a couple of Eldrazi into play...the computer opponent stopped doing anything. At all. It just went through phases...didn't even play land, which I KNOW it had, from searching its hand for cards with a CMC under 3 to destroy. I actually caused a computer to be hopeless.

How delicious.

Seriously, I love this deck, and I'm sure that in any tournament, I'd get the floor wiped with me, but I SO want to go buy a big stash of Eldrazi cards now and build this deck for real.

Glad you like it. My inner "Timmy" has always had a fondness for the Eldrazi.

I've noticed this too. It doesn't always happen, but when it does it seems to be when you have a lopsided game and something out that destroys/forces the sacrifice of the AI's permanents. With something like Avatar of Woe, the AI will just hesitate on playing creatures. With the Eldrazi legends, though, it hesitates on everything, including lands.

For competitive play, it's preferable to splash red instead of black for early board wipe with Pyroclasm. And the Urza's lands make for a more effective mana base than Cloudpost and Vesuva. Actually, if I can ever manage to find appropriate artwork for the Urza's lands, I will switch to using them. Although, the deck is powerful enough as it is...

For those who are having crashing/excessive slowdown with the Defenders of the Realm & Lay of the Land decks, have you updated with the link kevlahnota found here (requires Theta version)? I am thinking it might be a combination of the Birds/Hierarch mana functions and the pre-updated game's handling of three-color decks.

I have updated with the link and whenever I play with defenders of the realm,it crashes all the time. I dont know what I have to do. I am using theta version with almost all the decks that have been released in the forum.

Clicking on the ability just changes the color of mana it adds. Actually tapping for mana is automatically done by the game engine (unlike mana token abilities). It's not ideal, but nothing about the way this game handles mana sources is...

As for the crashing issue, the only other thing I can think of right now is to update the mods you have. I believe I had some issues myself until I updated them (I think it was specifically the community DLC that caused problems until I updated).

I thought that the card itself had to tapped instantly when you click on the ability, like manna tokens. Now I have checked again and I understand the mechanics of both cards. I installed your old versions and now it works perfect. All the other mods are updated and now it seems everything is fine. Thanks for the advice! If I fins any other bugs I will report!

Glad it worked. Did updating help with the original Birds and Hierarch or did you still need to use the old ones? I ask because I'm planning to release an update later this week and want to be sure to address this issue properly before I do.
