Thanks again for all the fixes, firemind. I can actually play these cards for once. I might still have some kinks that cause a ctd here and there but i think this game is just unoptimized sometimes.

Just a side note, when I copy sun titan with phantasmal image it doesn't get vigilance for some reason but still has sun titan's main ability.

I've been using notepad++ to view my card files now but I can't copy past the codes into the files without it messing up for some reason, so I've been manually applying the changes between your new code and the one I had so I might have missed a line somewhere. The cards work for the most part so I can't complain.

I just download and install the r162 of the community DLC and my SCRIPT_LOG.txt contains this message :

[lua] [string "Content\Functions\FILTERS2.LOL [622]"]:7: malformed number near '1_1_0'

I deleted that file, so it should work now  (I made that file and I don't even use it, so I don't think it will be missed.)

Hi everyone,

can please someone help me? I try to hexedit the dotp2013.exe. When i open the exe data with the program flexhex i can open it only in read-only mode and not read/write mode to edit the storm to steam.dll. It says it can't open open the data in read/write mode only in read-only mode??? Why is that so?

Just a guess: if you are using Windows Vista/7/8, try running the hex editor as administrator.

@thefiremind could you be so kind and tell me please what files i should download. I try it by myself with the help of an old youtube video from frenzy but the files have changed by the time. Should i put in first the files for the mod in the data folder before i edit the exe file, could it work then without the hexedit or must i edit the file, because i have the theta version???

If you have a current theta version then you don't need to rename files or hex edit, nor do you need Rick's dll because the wad check is already disabled in the current theta versions.

If you have a current theta version then all you need to do is put the mod's wads into the game directory and they should automatically be seen and used by the game.

Last I saw Skidrow only had an initial release of DotP 2013 (non-updated, contains bugs that have since been fixed), but you can use it with Rick's dll without any hex editing. I may simply be ignorant of later Skidrow releases (if there are any).

Theta has 3 versions of v1.0 (that I know of):
  1. SE v1.0 (This is Theta's initial release, read: old version, requires Rick's dll and needs hex editing to use it.)
  2. SE v1.0 r36 (This is the second release from Theta which no longer requires Rick's dll.)
  3. SE v1.0 dc120919 (This is Theta's third release which includes Expansion pack 1 and as far as I know is the current release.)

If you have the second or third Theta release then you do not need Rick's dll (and don't need to mess with hex editing the executable).

Personally, I feel that the third Theta release is the one to go with as it should have fewer bugs (though there are still plenty of them). Plus the updated executable will allow you to properly make use of the cards from the expansion (at least one card uses a function that was added to the executable) and deck packs.

Please say me that the mods work with the steam version, because i buy it only for the mods, because i am sick and tired of this theta version hexedit thing. I have now the steam version!!! Where i can find the data files of the steam version? Should i make a backup that i have the files on my computer or what? Sry it is my first steam game. I usaully play ps3 but for this mods i buy magic on steam like i said.

Many people have gotten mods to work with the Steam version, though they have to use Rick's dll to get the Steam version to recognize mods (otherwise the game won't recognize them because the WAD checks won't match). Though if you use mods you may have issues trying to play online as any person you play against would have to have the exact same WADs.

Usually Steam keeps applications in %Program Files%\Steam\SteamApps\common. %Program Files% is usually either "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files (x86)" depending on whether you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.

Backups are usually recommended, but with Steam are not usually necessary as you can always re-download the game and Steam ensures that the game is updated. Another thing about mods for DotP 2013 is that they usually don't involve any changes to the original game files so there really isn't anything that needs to be backed up.

I've had the Steam version for awhile now and have used mods, the only issue with THIS particular mod at the moment is the campaign is broken on it.
I actually removed this mod for the time being until it gets updated to work with the newest version of 2013, but the decks do work from it.
