OK people, this will probably be the last release of my mod before DotP2014 comes out. Of course I'll always fix any bug you find (when I can).

I'm sure that lots of people will like Elemental Fury 3.0. 8)

EDIT: I had to make a temporary patch already... #-o oh well, always better finding the bugs later than never. :)

Hi, first of all I want to thank you for your amazing decks. I really have no idea how much time you've spent concocting and coding such masterpieces. If that save thing wasnt an issue, your decks would be the only ones I'd use since they are so much fun to play with.
What I wanted to ask you was what do i need to start making my own decks? and also, can i modify the decks I've downloaded? Because some decks are cool but they have moxes and other unfair cards.
Thanks in advance!
Ps: Can't wait for DotPw 2014 to see what the modding community can do with it

Hey Firemind,

Thanks for the shout out, and of course I'd love to show off the decks you guys are making. I've recently changed up the format a little bit, so every deck gets a little bit more attention, plus I'm not showcasing the decks against other modded decks anymore, because I feel that playing against the default decks from 2012 and 2013 gives players new to the modding scene a better sense of how the modded decks fit into the larger frame, as well as it not being as straining on me when I end up playing against decks riddled with moxes and the original dual lands.

I don't have as much free time as I used to, and I suspect having even less in the future, so if you guys could shoot me a pm on Youtube, when you feel that you have something you would like me to show off, then I can go specifically for those decks, and not have to look through the 100+ decks I have installed. And in the future I wouldn't mind making other types of videos pertaining to the modding community, so if you have any ideas, please let me know. I'm open for discussion and for new ideas.

Again, thanks for keeping DotP 2013 interesting, and thanks for all your (you and every other modder in here) hard work. I'm enjoying seeing the community grow as a whole!

If you start with just using existing cards (and this of course includes modifying existing decks) it's very easy and you can use RiiakShiNal's deck builder which is very well done. You can find a link on the first post here, or on RiiakShiNal's signature (or just go to the Utilities sub-forum).

I agree with that, but as you already noticed, some decks from DotP2012 received tweaks from the modder who remade them (kevlahnota), so they aren't totally identical to the original ones. Anyway, my decks are all quite balanced, more or less, so if you need a fair match and you want to show off 2 decks at once (considering what you say about your free time), you should be safe using 1 of my decks versus another 1 of my decks. My decks are always in sequence inside the deck selection, so even if you can't remember them all, just know that they start from Angelic Might and end with Unstable Terrain. Yes, "I See Dragons" has 2 Moxes, but that's all... that deck was meant to be a boss fight in a custom campaign and I never removed them, but it's not a fast deck so they don't make it overpowered.

I'm still not too familiar with YouTube's options, I basically opened the account just to comment some of your videos... anyway if I find how to PM there, I'll do that.

Just out of curiosity, how did the whole idea of making a tournament go? Did you forget about it after the famous "ranting video" or you just didn't find enough volunteers, or what else?

With this dlc.. i wonder if the ipad script could do an auto conversion for bulk decks.. i will try and write one for this purpose but i would really enjoy all of your decks on my ipad.. you just have far too many to convert one by one.

Endless March 2013 : Stormfront Riders doesn't bounce creatures back to hand. Also, it doesn't produce em soldier tokens.
Phryrexian Poison: Whispering Specter - still stays in play when I click "Yes" to sacrifice.

Btw,your new Simic Guild deck is way OP, though incredibly well balanced =D> Once tokens of Master Biomancer start coming in, I start getting creatures in the hundreds of power/toughness

I knew I would have introduced some new bug when I cleaned up the code on old cards... #-o

Since that card is starting to annoy me, I totally removed the check for the characteristic "creatures can't be sacrificed"... after all, no card uses it, so why complicating my own life?

Both are fixed in the temporary patch now. Thanks for the report!

There's some problem on the card MAKE_A_WISH_222193

It doesn't work, at least until DLC v8.
I had some information about this error on the SCRIPT.LOG, but actually i don't have it with me. If i remember correctly, it talks about some attempt to a nil value.

Thanks for the report, it was just another silly copy-paste error. #-o

This was good to know. I wish someone would break the game open and make a better deck selection screen, which let you browse through the decks alphabetically, but I know that's neither easy or perhaps even possible. Anyways, I recorded five videos with your deck, which is gonna be uploaded partially throughout this week and the next, and I did what you suggested and played a deck of yours against another deck of your making. For some (not all), I've posted Deck Manager footage for both decks, so people can get a sense of the deck that the AI played as well. The first one is up right now.

I'll try to keep up here and there, but if you have something you want to push, just shoot me a msg through Youtube. All you need to do is go to the inbox, write a new message, and fill in my name in the recipient box.

thefiremind wrote:Just out of curiosity, how did the whole idea of making a tournament go? Did you forget about it after the famous "ranting video" or you just didn't find enough volunteers, or what else?
I never really got around to it. I still plan on doing it, but I'd want to talk to you guys first, and make it a joint event between my subs and the users of Slightly Magic, if you guys would be interested. As I said, I've had a little too much on my plate these days, and I'm leaving for Japan for a couple of weeks in early June, so it would have to be after I return. However, I would be very interested in either hosting or helping out with a tournament, if we can agree on a list of decks, which are balanced enough for everyone to stand a chance with. Also, perhaps we could make a file package with said decks, so that everyone who enters could just install that and play without having to worry about whether or not they have the right decks installed.

So, I didn't forget it, and the rant video should not be seen as the lack of interest in contributing to the DotP modding scene with what tools I have at my disposal. =)

Btw. I should mention that I had problems with one (only one) of your decks. I tried to record games using the 'Ask the Sphinx' deck against one of your decks and then Sky & Scale, to see if it was the other deck causing trouble, but my game kept crashing. I had no problems playing any of the other decks in your pack, though.

Actually, the deck selection is already in alphabetical order... not according to the deck name you see, but according to the file name of the deck list. In fact my decks are all together because their file names all start with "D1999".

I'm trying to investigate about the problem, but couldn't reproduce the crash yet. The AI got stuck trying to play Azorius Charm, though, but it's the first time it happens and I'm not sure if it's Azorius Charm itself (but I can't see errors in it) or another card that interferes. I'll keep investigating.

EDIT: I found the problem in Azorius Charm: I was binding the target choosing to a target definition that didn't exist (ID 1 instead of ID 0). No crashes, though. It could be an incompatibility with another mod, and if that's the case, finding the reason could be really tedious.

None of them. I made them because I was too optimistic and thought that snow mana was supported by DotP2013, but then I realized it wasn't. Anyway, they aren't the only cards I made that aren't used in a deck... for example, there's Nicol Bolas and some other Grixis-colored cards that were meant to be in an unearth deck, but then I discovered that Sedris, the Traitor King can't be properly coded and I gave up. People are free to use those cards in decks of their own, of course.

If you are using my Deck Builder and see the card in the card listing then you can right-click it and select "Decks Used In ..." and it will tell you all the installed decks (including land pools and unlocks) that use that card. If no decks use that card it will tell you that the card isn't being used.

It unfortunately does not currently check to see if a card is a registered token of other cards that are used in decks (maybe in a future version), but it is still pretty useful.
