Problems with Flashback (iPad)

Postby Dane » 14 Oct 2012, 19:57

Has anyone else encountered any sort of problem with using Flashback effects when playing user created decks? I'm playing on the iPad, but I'd be curious to see if it's a similar issue on the PC. I did a search in this forum, but of the four posts that had "Flashback" in them, none of them looked to be reporting this issue.

Anyway, the problem is like this. I'll play a card with flashback, putting it in my graveyard. During my opponents turn, he'll make a play that I want to respond to with a spell, using the flashback effect. If I expand my graveyard, the spells with flashback will be highlighted, showing that they're playable at that point...but I can't drag them from the graveyard to the field. If I select one of them, the appropriate mana will be highlighted, again, giving a clue that the computer recognizes that it's a playable effect...but there's no "Activate ability" box, or "Play card" option.

Eventually...if I don't give up, some manner of tweaking and flicking and tapping will get it to work, but I couldn't tell you what exactly I do...all I know if my frustration is mounting, and all of the sudden the card is playing.

Anyone else had this issue? Any advice what I'm doing wrong here?

I had the same problem on my iPad. Never did get them to play. Very frustrating. ;)

There's a similar issue on the PC, I suppose. You do have to just click on the highlighted card. There isn't any prompt or anything. There's also the added fun of the game engine not recognizing when you have flashback cards that you can play in your graveyard. Unless you activate "hold priority" in the advanced settings, your turn will go right by while you scrabble to cast them.
