Where to move all those pictures?



Card back image:

Save the card back image file to
...\EpochSoft\BotArena\Images\Cards\CardBack.jpg

When you open BotArena now, you will see the new card back image.

MTG card images:

At first you need to create a folder called "MWS" in
...\EpochSoft\BotArena\Images\Cards\MWS

Therein you need to move all extracted and renamed set folders, as you can see in the picture above. How they need to be renamed? Check the column "Folder name" in the table on top of this post.

When you open BotArena now and start a new game OR open the deck editor, you will see the MTG card images.
Note: It is not required to restart BotArena or have BotArena closed, when you add such pictures.

Wallpapers:

Save your wallpaper image files to
...\EpochSoft\BotArena\Images\Wallpapers\

Afterwards open BotArena, click in the menu at "Options" -> "Appearance Settings" and choose your new wallpaper at "Background". You may want to adjust the options there too as you prefer it.
Note: It is not required to save wallpapers into the mentioned folder, you may choose an wallpaper from everywhere on your computer.
Avatars:

You may also noticed the folder "Avatars". There you can save your Avatar images. Avatar images usually have a size of 100x100, but this size isn't required in BotArena, you may have a bigger avatar too (and a smaller of course), but a too big one I wouldn't recommend.

Save your avatar image files to
...\EpochSoft\BotArena\Images\Avatars\

Afterwards open BotArena, click in the menu at "Options" -> "Appearance Settings". At the 6th option under "Game Table" check "Show avatar image on table" if it's unchecked and click on "Choose...". Then select your new avatars for you and your CPU opponent.
Note: It is not required to save avatars into the mentioned folder, you may choose an avatar from everywhere on your computer.

Where do I find specific images, like the image for the Armada Wurm tokens?

Also, I'm missing images for the PO2, HOP, ARC and CMD sets. Actually, I have images for PO2 in a PO2 folder but it's not loading them. (Oh, I just renamed my folder from PO2 to P02 (P zero 2) and it worked.)

The RTR images are all fuzzy. Is that because I do not have high quality images for that set? Where can I find those?

There's an issue with the split cards like Pain and Suffering from the INV set. I fixed all of them from the DIS set by removing underscores in the name. It's mighty tedious to go through all the sets and fix each one this way. Can this be coded to read them with the underscores please?

HQ RTR images were released on this forum last week As for split cards, there's only 23 in all Magic -- so it's not that troublesome.

For tokens, we release image compilations time from time. The problem here is that the token name follow the key <name><ID>.full.jpg, where the ID is an internal number of token. For Armada Wurm token (and Worldspine Wurm) it's 2750, so the image should be called Wurm2750.full.jpg

Sorry, I'm not understanding. How is the knowledge of the naming convention going to help me locate a token for Armada Wurm? Is there a token that I should have that should be renamed? I can't find one.

Well, the token was printed in RTR, so it's included in extras of HQ pictures.

I copied the entire EpochSoft folder to an USB drive with all the subfolder structure intact. However, while BotArena on my PC can read the card images, the copy in my USB drive could not read any images at all.

I would like to know how to set the card images path for BotArena that is running off an USB drive. I am thinking along the lines of setting the images path to relative instead of absolute pathway. Please advise.

You can't set the image folder using BA configuration menu. I don't know if its possible but you maybe you can edit the registry:

You can modify the "Bitmap" key to your folder. The key can be found here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EpochSoft\BotArena\Settings

Tell me if that works.

Actually, what I had in mind is to reconfigure the pathway without meddling with regedit. I wish to play on PC that does not grant admin rights.

That would be done re-coding part of the source code to do it configurable. However at this moment only Isochron is working in the source and he seems to be busy in RL too, so I don't know if that option would be in BA someday. Sorry.
