Question or request for popular cards

Postby bobjones9792 » 31 Dec 2014, 04:28

I've recently reinstalled DOTP 2014 and I was wondering if there is a collection of highly popular/powerful cards. These would be cards that would be rated at least three, if not four stars on gatherer, or some other high rank on another site. I'd like to avoid getting too many less useful/common cards because of the tendency for them to be vanilla creatures or virtually useless, and they simply take up space and take time to search through for better ones.

Generally speaking most cards on this forum are in "sets" - I have around 12,000 cards to play with (a lot of them are duplicates) but they are nice to have. With that said Just try some of them, if you check the formal request thread there may be some of what you're looking for but that not likely given they are just request for cards that some don't know how to code. If you are looking for a deck that is going to win per say turn 4 I can provide you all the required Mods and the .Wad file that is required to play it, but otherwise I don't know what to tell you. I would love a Sadistic Sacrament though.

Edit: there is an option in the deck builder to not show certain rarity of cards, so if thats something you would like that does exist.

Aside from the part about Sadistic Sacrament and the turn 4 aggro deck, I would say most of the modders would tell you the same thing: just try your hand at one of the mods, or all of them.

Thanks, I remember there was a set that had a number of good vintage/legacy cards like channel, moxes, lotus, etc. I was looking for something more comprehensive though. I actually downloaded some cards from this site, but its been a while and I thought someone might have made something in the meantime. The cards don't necessarily have to be on the same level as the power nine, just cards that are popular period and that many like.

What I hate is seeing cards like cancel that are worse in 99% of the situations then a counterspell would be, or something like shock vs. lightning bolt, or even something like garruk's companion which is almost always better than grizzly bears. I realize all this is relative and depends on the situation, but this time I'd like to be a bit more picky with what cards I download.

Generally speaking: those cards are made because of cards like the power nine. thats why Counterspell was taken out of standard years ago and not put back in. Though I have my fair share of "Peasant decks" with only commons and uncommons and it absolutely destroys some of the sadist decks i've made, including the WoTC eldrazi deck. However this isn't a forum meant for discussion. if you would like me to share the deck i was referring too i will and i will list all the WADs required. the only deck it lost to was a vampire deck made by TFM.

That would be good, I'd appreciate what wads you were using. By any chance is it a goblin deck? When I created my best, non-turn 1 cheese deck one of the few decks it had trouble against was a goblin deck I downloaded, those goblin guides were brutal.
