Omnath, Locus of Rage - second ability caused my game to crash.

Is anyone interested in a mana upgrade? Because I've gotten an idea I decided to try nearly working. (Sorry, but I got the idea just before actually starting on Whisperwood Elemental, so I haven't messed with that yet.)
I've been working on Azorius Guildgate, and I've gotten it to do what I want in most situations, but not quite all. It can do auto-tap mana and manual mana and you can switch between the two at will. However, it can ALSO do 'smart mana'. Smart mana is a function set I've been working on to calculate possible combinations of mana given your current mana producers and determine if a given card can be cast using that mana. If it can be cast, then set the mana producers to a combination that makes it possible.
I've been testing with Angelic Shield, Gideon's Avenger, and Surgespanner. It works for the latter two, but it only works for the first if it's the only one in hand. That's the bit that I'm still working on. But for anything else (such as needing certain combinations of mana for abilities or something), the 'smart mana' won't operate. However, you can still use it like normal auto-tap dual lands (manually set it to the color you want it to auto-tap for) or manually produce the mana.
This may or may not work for the AI. If it does, then the issues with the AI not being able to cast spells because it can't figure out how to tap MM lands or how to switch auto-tap lands should be fixed. It'll still have issues with abilities, but it would at least be a heck of a lot better, albeit still not perfect.

Your link for gatherer is broken, so I'm not sure what you wanted to convey with that, since I can't see the result. This website is really good at having all the cards in a neat visual format. It has almost all the expansions as well. It does well keeping up to date, before the gatherer updates for the "spoilers"

this is my search for commander 2015 in the gatherer.
I looked at the card, but nothing about it should have been able to crash the game. I would be willing to bet that the second ability simply triggered a bug in a different card. The code in this one is actually about 99% taken from vanilla cards. It's got the trigger mostly from Scourge of Valkas and the damage code of almost any damaging spell you find that can target both creatures and players...MasterXploder7 wrote:Omnath, Locus of Rage - second ability caused my game to crash.

Smart mana would be very helpful, especially during online games with mates. However, have you tried forcing non-basic lands into the basic land section? If you are really looking to use smart mana, then I think the next thing to do would be to force non-basics into the basic land section (if we even can).
The deck with Omnath, Locus of Rage was focused around playing multiple lands per turn (using Exploration, something-something of the Mul Daya, and Crucible of Worlds with other cards like Lithatog for land sacrifice) so I am unsure of what the card that caused the conflict could be. I have also noticed that the enemy will refuse to block these tokens. There was only 1 instance in which the tokens were destroyed and thats when the game crashed. Tokens were made successfully every time.

Unfortunately, it's not really feasible to get the lands to do that. I've done tests on it, but no matter what I do, if a land is not basic, then it will not go down into the basic land area. If a land is basic but lacks a basic land type (other land types like Locus won't do), then it will try to go to the basic land area but will fail to display properly (in some cases, not displaying at all).MasterXploder7 wrote:Thank you.

That means that if we want all lands in the basic land area, then they MUST have the basic supertype and a basic land type. But if they do, then every filter in the game that looks for those will catch these fake-basic lands. So, in order to make them work properly, we would have to go through every card that checks for basic or basic types and make them ignore the fake-basics.
Using the method they used for the planeswalkers might at least make it so the text doesn't display "basic land - island" or something. For instance, we could add in Locus or Lair as well and then make it display that combination differently, but it'll still behave as the types and subtypes and supertypes it actually has.
I tried removing the subtypes usinga static ability, but it had the same effect as not being there in the first place. So, the real issue is displaying them. I could make them invisible, but not do what's really needed.
I thought maybe it was missing the registration, or maybe it needed multiple (it uses the random token function), but there's only one needed, and it already has it, so I'm not sure what's going on. Hi everyone,
a couple of days ago I was building an UW control deck when I realised that:
- oust does not work properly, it puts the creature on the top of it's owner's library.
- akroma's vengeance kills planeswalkers
I have also a question about the "awaken" ability: how do I cast a card for it's awaken cost?

EDIT: Sorry, I missed the question about awaken. You should just have to make sure you can a land that can be targeted by it, make sure you can afford the cost, and zoom in and choose it.
I just tested, however, and it seems they're not working now. I'm not sure why, but I'll look into it.

Alright, I've figured out why awaken is sometimes not working the way it should, but I'm not sure how to fix it yet. It has to check if the player can afford the resource cost to cast the card, but when it does so, it does so on a layer lower than when most non-basic auto-tap lands are granted the mana ability, so they don't register those lands can help pay for it. As such, you need manual mana tokens or enough basic lands to cover the awaken cost before it will say it's available.
The general idea for how to fix this would be to move the check to a higher layer, but it's already in the only layer it can be in due to other interactions. I'll see if I can get it to work properly, but I'm off doing other stuff at the moment, so I can't say how long it will take.

Just managed to make a 19/18 Den Protector and it got blocked by a 4/4 and a 5/5 my opponent had in play.
On a different note, I'm trying to create my own double face cards but I can't seem to make them work. Could you please tell me the files that make double faced cards work (aside from D14_TFM_TRANSFORM.LOL)?
