Hey there, Mike here. Was wondering if someone could get Gates, Maze's End, Amulet of Vigor and Summer Bloom made?
It's fairly self-explanatory, I'd imagine. Just a few other little things, and that's a deck.
... Or is it not possible to put a referable sub-type on a land??
Anyhow, Would love it if that could be a thing.
-- Also, this is DEFINITELY the wrong place for this, but does anyone know of a simplified, downloadable card-building and WAD-Compiling Tool? Something similar to the DECK BUILDER by Riiak? I'd love to try my hand at card compiling, but don't have the time, know-how or, frankly, energy to compile something like that myself. Also, if anyone manages to complete the above requests, could they maybe PM it to me, with a link to a download or torrent?? I would really appreciate that. Thanks for your time!!

sumomole has made all of those cards and quite possible already made a similar deck to what you are looking for. You can find his mod here:
viewtopic.php?f=109&t=10914
Making cards is very easy. Download TFMs card generator here. That will generate the base structure of the card and the relatively easy abilities (like flying, etc). For a quick tutorial on how to make cards check out this link. It is easy once you get the hang of it. For the most part it's just copy and paste once you've built up a big data base of cards. And you don't need some crazy wad compiling tool. If you are just making cards for yourself use Riiak's deck builder to Create a Core Wad from Custom Data. Then drop your card xmls, art files and localized text files in the custom data folder and you are good to go (no need to repack the folder into a wad).

Hey there, Mike here. So, I was messing around with mtgcardsmith.com and came up with something. It's a flip planeswalker, but I am unsure if it's actually possible to code in game (or if it's any good). So, here's how it works.
Opherum, Fallen Justiciar ----------

Text:
Opherum enters the battlefield with X loyalty counters.
{+1}: Opherum, Fallen Justiciar deals damage to target creature or player equal to half of X rounded up, where X is equal to the value of X as you cast him.
(Or would that be better as 'equal to half the number of loyalty counters on Opherum, rounded up??)
{-3}: Put an Y/Y legendary red soldier creature token named 'Opherum's Squire' onto the battlefield, where Y is equal to half the value of X, rounded up.
(Same question as before...)
{-7}: Flip Opherum, Fallen Justiciar.
---------
Opherum, The Redeemed
Text:
This planeswalker counts as being both White and Black and has Indestructible. Prevent all damage that would be dealt to him.
{+2}: Exile target permanent. It's controller gains 3 plus X life, where X is equal to that card's converted mana cost.
{-10}: Exile all permanents. Put a legendary 7/7 white spirit creature token with shroud named 'Opherum's Faithful' onto the battlefield.
---------
So, that's the basic idea of the card. How is that design? I admit, I was going for a more flavor-based approach when I designed it, but I think that it's a good "red" planeswalker.
Would love to see if it's possible. If anyone is interested in seeing that card, you can find it at these links:
http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/opherum-fallen-justiciar#.VA91CPldXNk -- That's the first side of the card.
http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/opherum-the-redeemed#.VA90t_ldXNk -- That's the second side of the card.
When I was outlining the card, I put the first half on top, and the second half on bottom, by the way.
- Mike.

Yeah, I'd count the loyalty counters. It would be less work to keep track of it.MikalMooni wrote:Hey there, Mike here. So, I was messing around with mtgcardsmith.com and came up with something. Well, TFM managed flip cards and he and Gorem managed planeswalkers, so I imagine it could be made. I don't know how well it would work with planeswalker-targeting cards, though, because at least a few require looking up the cards by name, I think, and I doubt they'd want to add a custom card to the list.MikalMooni wrote:{-3}: Put an Y/Y legendary red soldier creature token named 'Opherum's Squire' onto the battlefield, where Y is equal to half the value of X, rounded up.

As for what I think of the card itself... I like it. There is one change I would make, but it's... "complicated" to get it right. Basic idea is to allow Opherum to return should the 7/7 die. But, because of how focused he is on X, I'd want to include that, which could be tricky. I think the way I would personally do it (though it would obviously be up to you ) would be to make it so that the ultimate has, "You may cast Opherum from exile if there are no creatures named "Opherum's Faithful" on the battlefield."
The only other thing I'd change is that he's a bit OP as he is. I think it would make him less OP and simultaneously make him simpler to understand if you make him cost XXR instead of XR and then dividing his counters. But that's just taste.

I'm sorry but I won't help you on this one. I have never really been into custom cards from the start, and now that I have less time and less interest for DotP (which would rise again only if someone manages to make DotP2015 moddable) I only give advices here and there, and update the Planeswalker Pool when needed/possible.

Thanks, Xander9009. Yeah, he's a little OP. That's why I wanted to know if it were possible to keep track of the X cost in a data chest or something. Would a cost of
make him less OP, using the "X= half of loyalty" model?
TFM, It't cool, I don't mind. I was just wondering if it were possible. Do you know of a resource where I can learn more about data chests in M14's engine, though? I think it was Riiak who did work on the chests with objectDC, right? I'll look there for starters.
.... TFM, you don't think it would be possible to add cards to the card pool of M15, do you? I know, off-topic, but it couldn't be THAT bad. We did it with sealed. After figuring out the changes they made to the engine we could probably do something similar to that. Maybe we could pull the data from the core file, re-write it with the new card additions, then repackage it and insert it into the game once more. A program, maybe?? Kind of like an Interpreter, from emulation. It would write the unencoded data into a separate file. Then, you could write it in reverse once you finished your work.
What do you think about that??

I actually already wrote a small utility which can do most of this (the M15 bit). It's not very powerful or advanced, but it can definitely be done (assuming you mean replacing existing cards with our modded ones).
Yes, Riiak did the ObjectDC functions. THat page is not only the download, but it also shows how to use them (if you understand the coding).
And I imagine that would help (regarding the cost).
EDIT: Fixed typo because I don't exactly 'imaging' that much...

I also check the forums, so if you have additional questions regarding the ObjectDC functions I can answer those as well (just remember though that I'm not always on so it may take some time for me to see and answer).

And yet you're still way more active than I am.thefiremind wrote:I have never really been into custom cards from the start, and now that I have less time and less interest for DotP (which would rise again only if someone manages to make DotP2015 moddable) I only give advices here and there, and update the Planeswalker Pool when needed/possible.
Also, you and Riiak both helped me with my custom cards (before my hard drive made me lose all that work, which, by the way, is why they were never released), but even so, I know what you mean. I've never been a big fan of custom cards, either. The ones I wanted help with were actually a group project in which two friends and I designed a deck each with entirely custom, balanced, mtg-esque cards without the others knowing the involved cards, or else I wouldn't have done it to begin with.

I don't know what's your current knowledge about modding, but for starters I suggest the 2 tutorials written by jacque:MikalMooni wrote:Do you know of a resource where I can learn more about data chests in M14's engine, though?
viewtopic.php?f=64&t=11752
viewtopic.php?f=64&t=12167
I'd suggest you to take your time and read this thread. In short, the file format has changed, we (modders) have no clue about how to open it, and the only one we know who could (Gibbed Tools' author) has no interest in working on it.MikalMooni wrote:.... I tried to add cards through "soft modding" (that's how I like to call what the modified 3DM Chinese executable can do with the external Content folder), but all I could do was substituting existing cards with other ones while keeping filenames and Multiverse IDs the same as the old card. If someone could open DATA_000.ZED, we would be able to perform further tests and maybe discover something useful, but as it stands, I still consider DotP2015 not moddable ("soft modding" is too limited).
