The expansion is about to come out on September 18, and I figured the best way to celebrate is to make just the base decks a few weeks in advance just to give players a "taste" on what's coming up, to help make the best judgements on deck editing and prepare them for what the metagame will be like after release (and, of course, to test my modding skills). Yes, this will probably be irrelevant after the expansion comes out, but you can still try the decks in the meantime and see which ones do you like.

The expansion will feature five new decks: the exalted deck Hall of Champions, the samurai deck Swords of the Samurai, the demon deck Lords of Darkness, Dack Fayden's Izzet deck Dodge and Burn, and the elf deck Sylvan Might.

After adding this deck to my "Magic 2014 — Duels of the Planeswalkers" folder, my game refused to open, going through the intro sequence, but crashing at the screen before the main menu.
I removed one of the other decks I had installed to see if I had hit some sort of capacity, but it still wouldn't open.
I then removed the Hall of Champions deck and it started working fine again.

Anyways, I reuploaded the deck with some patches, tell me if this works better.

By the way, you may want to take out the intro sequences from the Movies folder (I believe they are "ALIENWARE_MOVIE.bik", "STAINLESS_MOVIE.bik", and "WOTC_MOVIE.bik"). I know those movies can cause the game to take longer to load and cause occasional crashes.

I redownloaded and reinstalled the deck, and removed the specified movie files (which did remove them from the intro sequence), but I'm still having the exact same problem as before.
Once again, the game functions fine after the deck is removed.
I would also be curious as to whether anyone else is having this problem.

The problem usually means that some card in the deck is missing. It's possible that this deck needs a dependency that GrovyleXShinyCelebi forgot about.

If you want to check it fast, download Riiak's Deck Builder, run it once (pointing it to your DotP2014 folder), wait until it loads completely, then look at the error log inside the deck builder's folder. It will tell you all the problems about the installed WADs.

Alright, I used the deckbuilder as suggested above, however there was no error. The Hall of Champions deck was in there alongside all the rest, and the cards in it matched perfectly with the ones in the decklist.

I'm going to play around with it a bit and see if I can make any progress.

Your crash could be related to GrovyleXShinyCelebi using content_pack="0" and always_available="true" instead of using a custom content_pack. With content_pack="0" and always_available="true" set on 10 or more decks it will cause a crash on the PC version (exception is the 3DM cracked version). To avoid this modders have been using custom content packs for their decks also current versions of the Deck Builder will put new decks in the same content pack as the id block specified (so no-one should have an excuse for not using custom content packs).

I was using an older version of RiiakShiNal, so I scrapped that version and downloaded a newer one and remade the deck from there. This new upload might fix your issue, DesitePhantom, and thanks for your patience!

Anyways, there hasn't been any news for the expansion decks for some time now, so I decided to upload Prophetic Ravings (a remake of it with an eye to balance, unlike my other mods which had the exact same deck), as kind of a test of the new version of RiiakShiNal's deck builder. It should entertain you guys for a while until more decklists come out.

EDIT: I just realized that I made a huge mistake on the Bushido and Takeno's ability, and none of the Bushido effects work! Also, I accidently linked picture files for functions! AND the said functions were for 2013! Damn myself for rushing... Anyways, I'm going to take off the link to Swords and fix the Bushido before uploading it tomorrow. With that said if you have Takeno, Samurai General coded please send me a link.

A few notes:

-With what I said above, I'm probably going to spend tomorrow patching Swords before starting Sylvan Might, so expect the elf deck by Friday at the earliest.

-I couldn't find any high-quality art for Hand of Honor, so the deckbox image is Kitsune Blademaster. If anyone can get some some good medium-large sized (about the size of in-game art images should do) Hand of Honor art by tomorrow, I'll make that the deckbox in the patch.
