Collectible Card Game Headquarters

This will be the place to request decks for 2014 similar to how decks were requested for 2013. The same things apply to this topic except number 6. Here is the criteria:

1. The name of your deck
2. The name of the Avatar utilizing your deck. (it's the name that will appear for the AI)
3. The box art image you prefer. (I will choose one based on the theme of your deck if you don't provide one)
4. The Planeswalker image that will smolder if you lose a duel. (yes, this has happened to all of us)
5. The Planeswalker image face that will be displayed. (it's the image that will appear for the AI)
6. What preview card you want to be displayed when you choose you deck. (N/A)
7. A unique UID number for your deck.
8. Do you want to be able to unlock cards and what cards are they?
9. The number of stars for each category in your Deck stats. (Size, Speed, Flexibility, and Synergy)
10. Your card list. (the cards you want in your library)
11. The color or colors of your deck. (Black, Blue, Green, Red, White or a combination of the five)

However, because there are fewer cards available compared to 2013 we are somewhat limited @ the moment. Yet, I'll try to code cards that are unavailable whenever I can. But the best way to get cards made is to use the Formal Request Thread started by Master Necro. If your request isn't filled right away just be patient and someone will eventually get around to it. I requested a few Sphinx cards and most of them were created after a few days.


Rickycoe123, I've included the TDX and card XMLs in their appropriate folders as per your request. I hope this helps. I really enjoyed playing with this deck.

Hey, if you need any cards/decks made I could volunteer to make some for you. I'm getting the hang of making/debugging cards, the card creation thread's been somewhat quiet, and I don't have much else going on right now. I might not be able to get to all the cards all the time (especially if something is to come up)but I'll see what I can do.

(It's always best to request cards using that thread. I'll use the search function in that topic to see if any of these cards are available and edit this list accordingly.)

instead of Braingeyser and Stroke of Genius, it could easily be replaced with Blue Sun's Zenith, since there are many copies of that already out.

instead of 4x Gemstone Mine, i think it could be replaced with 4x Thran Quarry and instead of 2x Undiscovered Paradise you can use 2x Tropical Island

2x Abeyance can be replaced with 2x Voltaic Key

I took the liberty of making Braingeyser, Candelabra of Tawnos, Capsize, Gemstone Mine, Stroke of Genius, and Time Spiral, and put them (and their art) into the attachment below. I thoroughly tested them and they all work perfectly, so let me know if there's any issues!

Tommorrow I'll get to work on coding in the rest of the requested cards.

One more thing, I don't know if the untap step exists in Duels, would the upkeep phase serve for Undiscovered Paradise?

Sure there is.
(But the very first turn of each duel skips both untap and draw, just so you know)

Heh, I thought that STEP_UPKEEP was a dud this entire time, and Stainless fused the untap step with either draw and upkeep. Thanks for clarifying, firemind.

Alright, I made two more cards that were requested. The only two that I can't do are Abeyance (I don't know how to prevent a player from casting instant and sorcery spells ONLY, as that stuff is usually covered by built-in PLAYER_CHARACTERISTICs), and Meditate (I believe it was thefiremind who said that it's not yet possible to make abilities that skip entire turns). Otherwise, enjoy!

Not sure if I ever said that, but it's right anyway. You could get to a game state where it seems like you skipped a turn, by granting an extra turn to all the other teams, but it would be hard to make right (you would need to grant the extra turns in the correct order) and it would have wrong interactions with cards like Final Fortune (the turn where you lose the game would be posticipated rather than skipped).
EDIT: Actually, it might be possible by using SkipPhase on all phases of target player's next turn... but seeing the problems with SkipStep in our attempt at Paradox Haze, I don't know if it would work.

Well, looks like you saved my butt yet again. After seeing that there is no SkipTurn() function, I thought that manually making the game skip all the phases might work, but then after reading about problems you had with Paradox Haze I decided that the bugs alone would be phenomenal after such an endeavor, kudos for actually being able to make a way to skip entire turns that doesn't break my computer (yeah, I tested it and it works like a charm)!

With that, I do have one question. When does the trigger CONSIDERED_FOR_CAST actually activate? In fact, why is changing mana costs and other such attributes for cards in hand a triggered ability anyways instead of a static ability?

That's hard to say, I can only guess that it triggers when a card needs to be either highlighted (because you can cast it) or not.
A static ability doesn't carry TriggerObject and TriggerPlayer, this makes triggered abilities more powerful in terms of coding possibilities. Of course this kind of triggered abilities (CONSIDERED_FOR_CAST, CANT_BLOCK_TEST, EVASION_TEST...) can't be mapped to real Magic triggered abilities, the fact that they are coded as triggered abilities is just a developer's choice.

Great work! I'll go ahead and finish altezz's deck now. Also, I requested these cards in the FRT but no one has got around to producing them yet. If you have the time could you help create these so I can finish Lacy's tribal Gorgon deck? Also, where can I get a HQ picture of Deathgaze Cockatrice? Her deck features Bottled Cloister, Gorgons, Rats, and Snakes.
