This thread isn't for bug reports. It's just the best place for them, so there are a lot here. It's for anything related to the CW, and that includes requests. Also, the CW isn't made of specific sets. It's made of whatever cards the makers happened to need or want. There are a few sets thanks to NeoAnderson and Tejahn deciding to make whole sets (and eventually, I made most of Dragons of Tarkir). However, most cards are just whatever was needed at the time.

Anyway, I've made Cursed Totem, Rathi Assassin, Rathi Intimidator, and Massacre. They've all been added to the CW, and they'll be available when it updates next (which should be in about 3 hours; but I have no way to really know).

EDIT: I've now attempted Rhystic Tutor. You'll have to let me know if it has problems.
I thought the idea was to post the full sets in here, i didn't knew you added the cards you wanted, so i apologize, just tought you forgot to include these.

And that sounds great, thank you so much for looking into these cards. I have no problem waiting for the updates (can't wait really). I found this place like a week ago and i and my friends can't believe we can make our own decks for duels 2014 now, so again, thank you so much for this, this website is gold for us.

This weekend is going to be awesome thanks to you guys :D

If you and your friends come up with new decks, you might as well share them with us in the Decks thread.

You're welcome. :) Although, I should point out that the VAST majority of all the available cards were made by or made possible by modders who aren't active anymore, not by me.

The mods here used to be handled by individual modders. A modder would want to make a deck, would make the cards needed for it, add those cards and the deck to their mod, and release it as an update to the old one. So, there were lots of mods, and none of them were in sets. They were all just whatever cards were needed for whatever decks they wanted to make. It wasn't until Neo (that's when I first noticed it, at least) awhile back that any whole sets were done. And then I made this compilation of everyone else's mods (well, not all of them, just the ones that said they were okay with it, which was still most of them).

So, yeah, if you need any cards, feel free to request them. If you find any bugs, you can post those here or on this page. And if you noticed the Community Wad Decks page, then you might take a look at the Decks page in the sidebar of the bug reporting page. It lists most of the decks and what's in them. Just keep in mind that if you want to use a deck, you'll need to get the Content Pack Enabler for that deck as well. You can get all of them at once with the download link at the top of the page, and simply putting all of them into your game folder will be fine, even if they're for decks you don't use.

Thanks, we will for sure ;)

I think, once i check the update, my first addition is going to be my Classic Black control and Mercenary deck.

Can't wait.

@Xander9009 Thanks for explaining the whole deal.

Now i'm sure i've found a bug. When i was testing my mercenary deck, i attacked with "Silent assassin" against a "Guardian gomazoa", then i activated the assassin ability thinking well, if i'm going to lose my creature, i will kill the gomazoa as well, but instead, once the gomazoa blocked and i activated the ability to kill it at the end of combat, the assassin killed the gomazoa instantly and no damage was done to the assassin, so at the end it survived.

The idea i think is that the assassin's ability goes once the damage is done, right? because it says "at end of combat".

Let me know what you think.

I'm sorry if i keep going with old cards, but i love old fashioned magic.

Bug report

If Pitiless Horde enters for its Dash cost, only 3 mana are tapped instead of 4.

Edit:
There is a similar issue with Ambuscade Shaman. If Warbringer is on the battlefield, Ambuscade Shaman can't be cast for Dash cost at all. Without Warbringer it works fine.

Keep in mind you should properly capitalize the cards so the forum can highlight them.

No worries about how old they are. Frankly, I don't pay any attention to it.

I've attempted a fix for Silent Assassin. After the wad repacks tomorrow, let me know if it behaves as expected (or grab it from the loose files version and test it ahead of time).

Actually, if you'd had two Warbringers, it would have worked. It was just with exactly one that it was messed up #-o
Both fixed.

Well, making cards was far easier than i tought... if i did it right.

Before starting to share other cards i want to make sure i did it right so here you have a link to my files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-oDza ... sp=sharing

The card i made is "Phyrexian Driver", for my mercenary deck. It works for me but i want to make sure it's fine as it is or else i must change something, specially with the id, which i didn't understood entirely (english isn't my native language).

So i hope someone guides me into the right direction here.

Xander9009 wrote:Keep in mind you should properly capitalize the cards so the forum can highlight them.
And how do i do that? i visited the main page and i couldn't find a "Basic info" thread.

Well, that's it for now. I'll be working on my other cards as well, but i don't mind sharing my set when it's done.

Let me know ;)

This is a good example. If you write the card name with capital letters like Phyrexian Driver, it will be highlighted.

It's close, but it does have some problems.

The IDs are off, like you thought they might be. You put 512 on the beginning. This is a good practice for any mod EXCEPT the CW. For the cw, the filename and filename tag should be "PHYREXIAN_DRIVER_CW_22379". The MultiverseID tag is just "22379". The ArtID tag is "CW22379".

You included the art, but unless the art is better than what I already have, you don't need to. You can skip getting the art, because the CW already has all of the art, even for cards not in the CW. It doesn't hurt that it's in there, it's just a little more work than you need to do.

Next up, the way the tags are put together. A "tag" is any thing inside angle brackets like < >. So, <TRIGGERED_ABILITY> is a "triggered ability" tag. The main block is alright, though. A "block" is everything between a tag and its closing tag, which is when a tag starts with "</".
Code: Select all
<TRIGGERED_ABILITY> ---This is inside the "triggered ability" block--- </TRIGGERED_ABILITY>
Now, there are some tag that cannot go inside blocks. They are mutually exclusive.
PLAY_TIME_ACTION
RESOLUTION_TIME_ACTION
CONTINUOUS_ACTION
TARGET
TRIGGER
Those cannot go inside each other. So, you have
Code: Select all
  <TRIGGERED_ABILITY>
    <LOCALISED_TEXT LanguageCode="en-US"><![CDATA[When Phyrexian Driver enters the battlefield, other Mercenary creatures get +1/+1 until end of turn.]]></LOCALISED_TEXT>
    <LOCALISED_TEXT LanguageCode="fr-FR"><![CDATA[When Phyrexian Driver enters the battlefield, other Mercenary creatures get +1/+1 until end of turn.]]></LOCALISED_TEXT>

   <TRIGGER value="ZONECHANGE_END" simple_qualifier="self" to_zone="ZONE_BATTLEFIELD">
       <FILTER filter_id="0">
         local filter = ClearFilter()
         filter:Add( FE_CARD_INSTANCE, OP_NOT, EffectSource() )
         filter:Add( FE_SUBTYPE, OP_IS, CREATURE_TYPE_MERCENARY )
         filter:Add( FE_TYPE, OP_IS, CARD_TYPE_CREATURE )
         filter:Add( FE_CONTROLLER, OP_IS, EffectController() )
      </FILTER>

     <RESOLUTION_TIME_ACTION>
      <CONTINUOUS_ACTION layer="7C" filter_id="0">
         if FilteredCard() ~= nil then
            local characteristics = FilteredCard():GetCurrentCharacteristics()
            characteristics:Power_Add( 1 )
            characteristics:Toughness_Add( 1 )
         end
      </CONTINUOUS_ACTION>

   <SFX text="COMBAT_BLUNT_LARGE_ATTACK" power_boundary_min="4" power_boundary_max="-1" />
   <SFX text="COMBAT_BLUNT_SMALL_ATTACK" power_boundary_min="1" power_boundary_max="3" />
  </TRIGGERED_ABILITY>
You have most of the tags/blocks inside of a TRIGGER block, which can't be done. You also have a CONTINUOUS_ACTION block inside of a RESOLUTION_TIME_ACTION block. Both of these need fixed.

For the first, just remove the </TRIGGER> line and close the <TRIGGER...> tag immediately. You do that by changing ">" at the end to "/>" instead. So, you should be
Code: Select all
<TRIGGER value="ZONECHANGE_END" simple_qualifier="self" to_zone="ZONE_BATTLEFIELD" />
For the second, just remove the RESOLUTION_TIME_ACTION tags. You're doing something that will last, so you do need the CONTINUOUS_ACTION block. However, because you aren't doing anything that happens only once (drawing a card, losing X life, destroying a creature, ...), you don't need a RESOLUTION_TIME_ACTION block.That is for things that happen when the spell or ability resolves, and they happen exactly once and then are done.

Next up, the "<HELP...>" and <SFX...>" tags should only appear once, and they should be outside any abilities and inside the <CARD_V2>...</CARD_V2> block. However, that particular HELP tag (you can tell which it is by the section "MORE_INFO_BADGE_TITLE_11") is for the Shadow ability like Thalakos Sentry has. (The only easy way to know this is to search the deck builder for "MORE_INFO_BADGE_TITLE_11" in the advanced filter.) Just remove the line altogether.

Your AUTHOR, EDITOR, and DATE tags should go immediately before the </CARD_V2> tag.

The DATE tag should be DAY-MONTH-YEAR. You have MONTH-DAY-YEAR. (Also, while much less important, they should all be two digits, even when less than ten. But that's not problematic, really. It just looks a lot better and makes it work nicely with the tools I made for the CW.)

Last up, your filter is almost right, but has one specification that is wrong. It should not only affect your creatures. The ability only says other mercenary creatures. So, remove the line "filter:Add( FE_CONTROLLER, OP_IS, EffectController() )".

With all of those changes, it looks like this.
Phyrexian Driver | Open
Code: Select all
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<CARD_V2 ExportVersion="1">

All of these are simple mistakes that you'll learn to catch and correct pretty quickly if you keep making cards. I've added your corrected Phyrexian Driver to the CW.

@Xander9009 Thanks for the feedback.

Ok, ok, not that easy, but i did the search for a library of functions, constants, variables or whatever this game uses and couldn't find it, just found this http://www.slightlymagic.net/wiki/DotP_2014:_XML_Tags but there are tons of things i'm missing. Basically, i understand programming a bit and i'm just copying entire structures from different cards to make the cards i want to do.

I just finished Snuff Out (which i can't believe isn't part of the main Duels2014 game) and will put all what i've learned here for the other cards i'll do.

Again, thanks, and once i finish my set i will share it.

;)

Edited: Why is Phyrexian Driver laveled as a zombie mercenary when it's just a mercenary? i had to do the correction on the auto-generated card and now i see it on the capitalized name.

On this page you'll find the page you listed, as well as two other useful pages: Functions and Decompiled LOL Contents. The Functions page lists all known functions (but sadly lacks parameter information). Decompiled LOL Contents lists all known constants. Constants include zones, triggers, types, filters, phases, steps, characteristics, and others.

Copying sections of other cards and changing them to do what you need is basically how 90% of the cards in DotP are created. So, you're doing the same thing as the rest of us. Frankly, I imagine there are only a small handful of us that can properly code most of the abilities from scratch. Even those of us that can, though, don't. It's a waste of time when the work's been done by someone else already. :)

Also, I reported the error on Phyrexian Driver's subtypes.

Braid of Fire -- does not add mana to the pool (unless I misunderstand the keyword: the "payment" is to add mana, right?)
I'll look into it. Yes, you understood its purpose correctly.

Braid of Fire
adds the mana to your mana pool during your upkeep after your lands untap you have to accept or deny if you accept than you get mana if you deny you loose the enchantment at your draw step the mana is depleted. except for instants or flash the mana is compleatly useless which is why my decks that use it feature more instants than sorceries.

also with how it was coded you get a response timer to use it...(in some instance that timeer might go off about 6 or more times)
