ShoGUN's Dyeing Decks

Postby ShoGUN » 20 Jun 2015, 12:12

Here is a special case: Some decks you can use color changing effects (e.g. Mind Bend). Ever wanted to try those here? Note that these are utilizing CW (Community Wad) except the cards that needed to be modified and approximated, which are included in the deck WAD. You naturally cannot use the color changing effects to any other cards and decks. It still great fun! ;)

The problem with cards that change effects on other cards is that all applicable cards must be modified for things to truly work properly. For example you have a Mahamoti Djinn in play and you are at 2 health and your opponent has 5 health and a Lurking Crocodile in play and your turn just ended. With Mind Bend you could easily change the Islandwalk of the Lurking Crocodile to something less harmful to you and win, but only if your opponent's deck was also properly coded up to handle the effects of Mind Bend (which it probably wasn't). The same could be said of things like Sleight of Mind and Magical Hack, they aren't as useful if you can't use them on your opponents cards as well.

All true but still fun at least as a curiosity :)

I think we're not going to have this kind of characteristic (text) altering functionality generally and truly available with DOTP 2014. A pity, and there are many other deficiencies within the program. But all in all, in many ways it's the nicest platform we have. And well - never say never ;)

That is true, someone could take up the onus of recoding all applicable cards to all for support, but it would be a mammoth undertaking.
