What could be a nice way to say "thank you" to this community? contributing.

Short version of my story: I stopped playing MTG in 2002, and then got it back in 2010... well, sort of, because the game i was expecting wasn't what i was expecting. Actually, it lacked what did this game so popular in the first place: Your own Deck building. You wanted only creatures on it? sure, only lands? no problem, only sorceries and instants? of course, as long as all that makes sense. Duels of the Planeswalkers came in 2010 with nice graphics and effects... but lacked THAT. Building your own deck was changed by "Hey, want to play some magic? take these cards. Good luck."

Thanks to this community, i was able to create my own decks and got back to the game i was expecting but never got. So, thank you to all the modders in here. You rule.

Ok then, back to business (finally), here you have my own small mod, which i expect to increase adding new decks, and of course, adding new cards for them.

Few of notes.

1: You should change the name of the text permanent file so it doesn't conflict with the one in the CW. Assuming that you're using that to list your new cards' text, you can remove all of the ones that were originally in it and just add yours, and it'll work just fine. Otherwise, you should rename the tags as well. This way, there aren't multiple files floating around with identical tags where one may change and the other doesn't; that's bad form. The same kind of problem (albeit not with text permanent files) happened because a few people included functions from others' mods without ever changing the function names. The result was that when the original was changed (whether it was fixed or upgraded, I don't know), the two were suddenly incompatible and caused problems. Those files aren't too picky as long as you keep to the same format.

2: You forgot to note that the CW is required. This is unlikely to cause confusion, but if anyone new happens upon it, trust me, they'll be asking why the decks aren't working.

3: Your links are labeled backwards. The core link links to the enabler and vice versa.

4: When you convert art from PNG to TDX, don't drop it directly onto the Gibbed.Duels.TdXConvert.exe. Drop it onto the .bat file Riiak made. It'll keep the exact same quality in game, but will be WAY smaller file size. Your few pictures are 16 MB. When compressed, without losing any quality, they're 2.7 MB. If you really do intend to expand on this, that will add up really quickly.

1. There is no "sticky thread" or something like that explaining how to post correctly any mods. Where can i get all these instructions to contribute "correctly"? other than that, yeah i forgot about that file totally :(.

2. Added. Sorry about it, but i tought the CW was mandatory to get in this site.

3. Fixed.

4. Those .bat never worked on my end, i throw the files in there and then a windows error appear like in a milisecond and then nothing happens. And yes, i know my pics are big but don't plan to do many anyway.

1: There's nothing like that, really. It's just things you pick up after you've modded for awhile.

2: No problem. It's not required, really. I made the CW to simplify modding for the game, and it's done pretty well, but there are many mods that don't require it.

4: If you'd prefer, I made a tool that can do it for you that's an exe instead of a bat file. (It's actually what I used to see how much they'd shrink if compressed.) Grab the Universal Gibbed Converter.exe and drop it in your gibbed folder (or simply download the entire folder). Drop folders on it to pack them into a wad. Drop a wad onto it to unpack them. Drop tdx files on it to convert them to png. And drop png or jpg to convert them to compressed tdx files. You could also do it the "correct" way. Open up a command prompt window in the folder with your copy of gibbed tools and the image (hold shift and then right-click and choose open command window here). Type "Gibbed.Duels.TdxConvert.exe --dxt1 imagename.png" (without quotes and replace imagename with the image's name obviously lol). That's the command both the bat file that RSN made and the universal converter I made are trying to run.

Haha It's not a disaster. Really, the only things even remotely wrong with it at this point are the conflicting file and the uncompressed images. Neither of those are serious at all though. You're good. Just give people some time to test out the decks. :)

This thread isn't a disaster, my first release thread was more of a disaster than this. My mod was completely uncompressed (it wasn't even packed as a WAD, it was a zipped directory, actually thinking about it, it may still be completely uncompressed). It required some knowledge of how to mod for DotP 2010 and had several issues (bugged cards due to limited modding knowledge among other issues). I don't think too many people even looked at my thread because of much larger mods that were out at that point (plus I think the community was smaller then).
