[fixed]Dire Undercurrents timing off
by BorgMan » 14 Mar 2021, 13:21
Hey guys, I'm fiddling around with the newest Manalink 3.0 installation, and just came to the conclusion that the timing of Dire Undercurrents is off. In a previous version, since you can't choose in which way the "draw" trigger and the "discard" trigger resolve when casting an UB creature, Manalink decided that drawing came before discarding. The official ruling is that the active player decides when what triggers. With the newest installation, however, it has decided that first you let a player discard, and then draw a card. Needless to say, that is not my preferred order as I let the opponent draw a card and then discard a card when their hand is empty. Is this bug known?

Reimplemented in commit 78a5822 ("Dire Undercurrents new implementation", 2021-03-15) now it uses 2 different legacies for each trigger so now you can select the order. The may option is achieved through cancel target.
It doesn't work well with counter trigger cards like Stifle (it works as it did before which is to counter both triggers if a creature both black and blue enters the battlefield) which I suppose is Stifle's issue. Although you are given the chance to counter the separate triggers it doesn't resolve correctly.
