Two issues with Life from the Loam
1) Certain land cards are not actually returned from the graveyard, but rather a copy is placed in your hand and the card remains in the graveyard. For example Mishra's Factory seems to remain. As a result, you can get many more copies of some lands than there are in your library.
2) I do not believe the cards returned to your hand are properly accounted for in your hand count. For example, if Life from the Loam is the last card in your hand and you return 3 lands, then activate Liliana of the Veil, you will not need to discard any cards (as though you still had zero) even though your opponent will.
Please see attached replay. Play your land for the turn, then cast Life from the Loam. You will see that Liliana of the Veil will not force you to discard.
