[fixed/closed]Master Thief - Conquering Manticore

Postby Aswan jaguar » 29 Nov 2013, 17:58

Describe the Bug:
when a player A (AI) steals Master Thief [who has stolen with it's ability an artifact from opponent B (Human)] the stolen artifact doesn't returned to it's owner player B although Master Thief is not controlled by player A any more.
Noticed with Master Thieve stolen by Conquering Manticore.

Which card did behave improperly ?
Master Thief ? Conquering Manticore ?

Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
theros

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
when a player A steals Master Thieve (who has stolen with it's ability an artifact from opponent B) the stolen artifact has to be returned to it's owner player B since Master Thieve is not controlled by player A any more.
Noticed with Master Thieve stolen by Conquering Manticore.

Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?

Korath can correct me if I'm wrong, but stealing things doesn't interact well with legacy effects.

Stealing/legacy effects have been cleaned up a lot over the past couple patches, but that's not actually relevant to this bug - the problem is that Master Thief is coded as "When Master Thief enters the battlefield, gain control of target artifact until Master Thief leaves play."

(I can't find where Aladdin, which is still using the original exe code, handles this. Does it have the same bug?)

I think this is a duplicate of my other Various Exchange of Control Effects bug which is still listed as "wait".

Taking temporary control over anything which has already been stolen once will leave it incorrectly in your control permanently.

It isn't. That affects the same permanent being stolen more than once with different durations. This is stealing a permanent that reads "do something as long as you control this permanent".

Fixed Master Thief in 0d03cfb
Aladdin was recently recoded : the new code will be available soon, consider it fixed.
