[fixed/closed]Targetted damage prevention + protection

Describe the Bug:
When a creature with protection from white deals damage to me, I can't prevent that damage with Captain's Maneuver, Healing Salve or Divine Deflection.
When I activate Hypochondria targetting a damage card created by an attacking creature with protection from white, the help text says 'Illegal target (abilities)'.

Since Healing Leaves works in the described scenario, I conclude that having protection from a color prevents damage prevention spells and abilities of that color from working (unless said prevention spell/ability is global like Fog / Dawnstrider,) which it shouldn't.

Which card did behave improperly ?
Protection

Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
BotG v2, duel

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
A damage source having protection from a color doesn't prevent damage prevention spells and abilities of that color from preventing damage dealt by that source.

Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?

Specific to each card that prevents damage, so they'll need fixing individually (and I'll need a list of others that don't work).

An aside: prior to sixth edition, these all made a point of not specifically targeting anything, and let you choose which damage to prevent; hence, the Manalink interface targeting a damage card. In sixth edition and later, they target the object being damaged (so you can't use a Healing Salve to prevent damage to a Black Knight anymore), and they provide no choice about which damage they apply to; the controller of the object decides the order simultaneously-dealt damage is applied, and therefore (indirectly) which gets prevented. That's not likely to work "right" in Manalink anytime soon.

Put in a hack to work around this in 3c56890.
