[fixed/closed]Thornbite Staff untap effect

Thornbite Staff the ability "whenever a creature dies untap this creature" doesn't work.AI attached it to Maze Abomination and pinged/killed my Battering Krasis and it didn't untap.
Which card did behave improperly ?

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
