When Coalition Relic is tapped to use its second ability (the one that involves counters), it immediately add the mana of the chosen color and does not store the counter until the next upkeep, as it should.

Seems to be working correctly for me. However, I just noticed that if you tap it to add another charge counter before your first main phase (i.e. in your upkeep or draw steps) then it won't fire its triggered ability at all (possibly because tapped = turned off in pre-6th rules?).

As RanDomino observed if it is tapped no matter if you put a charge counter before the beginning of 1st main phase or it was tapped for other reason it doesn't produce mana/remove counters.

Well, the bug 0rion reported has definitely occured in some EDH games I've played with the Apr14 patch installed. It never happened in versions prior to that.
Most of the time, including most EDH games, it has worked fine, so I guess it has to do with certain board states/cards.
Since 0rion has not attached a screenshot or savegame it's hard to see a common denominator, but if I run into it again, I'll post a save/screener in this thread.

So here's two savegames in which the bug originally submitted by 0rion79 can be reproduced.

Unlike the regular "get mana" ability you can choose from the ability selection pop-up, this one can't be cancelled and will just pop up again and again if you attempt to.

I slightly revised the code in 52e4c9e
Consider this fixed.

- Long term task: inserting all the good stuff I left out from the "Golden Years" mod

With the new patch, CoRM15, it still immediately adds mana instead of a counter being put on it if you try to put a counter on it during your turn for the first time (same as it was in JOU). If you untap it, e.g. with Voltaic Key, during the same turn, it will add the counter (if activated again; same as in JOU).

It does add the counter if you activate it during opponent's turn (same as in JOU).

Correctly recieves a counter when activated during controller's turn as of CoRM15 mini2. Fixed.
