Describe the Bug:
When I activate Cauldron of Souls, it allows me to select the creatures to which I want to give persist. However, when those creatures die during that same turn, they do not return to play with a -1/-1 counter like they're supposed to.

Which card did behave improperly ?

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
Cauldron of Souls should give persist to any number of creatures, which means that if they die during the same turn Cauldron of Souls' ability is activated (and if they had no -1/-1 counters on them), they return to play with a -1/-1 counter.

Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?
Not that I could tell.


I tried many times to get a save game, but I always ended up with a corrupted file. I'll keep trying, but in the meantime, here's a screenshot of a situation where Cauldron of Souls could be used (but it doesn't work).

Situation of the screenshot: I could attack with all my creatures, then, after combat, use Cauldron of Souls to give persist to Gravedigger, play Disciple of Bolas, sacrifice Gravedigger to gain 3 life and draw 3 cards, and because Gravedigger has persist, it should return to play with a -1/-1 counter. However, it does not.

Unfortunately when the Deadbox card is in play to help with these cards that keep track of gy and other things - savegames get corrupted so don't try in vain to save a game when Deadbox card is in play.

Persist when granted didn't worked, I fixed that in dev, it will be less precise that the regular version (there will be some edge cases in which it will be buggy), but at least now works.

- Long term task: inserting all the good stuff I left out from the "Golden Years" mod
