[fixed/closed]Patriarch's Bidding freezes game

Postby Nexhro » 16 Sep 2014, 11:22

Describe the Bug:
1) Patriarch's Bidding freezes the client if cast when there's creature cards in both player's graveyards. This also happens if Bidding is cast after one of the graveyards (that had creature cards in it) has been exiled or shuffled into its owner's library.

2) If cast when only one of teh graveyards contains creatures, it resolves, but the opponent doesn't get to choose a creature type. Instead, teh player gets to choose creature types twice. The second choice doesn't return creatures from either graveyard regardless of what has been chosen.

3) Choosing "Auto" in the choice method selection popup results in werid creature type choices being made. For example, it chose Elemental in a game where one deck was full of Ornithopters and teh otehr was full of Viscera Seers. Choosing Auto in the second choice popup mentioned in 2) doesn't choose any creature type.

Which card did behave improperly ?
Patriarch's Bidding

Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
CoRM15 mini, duel

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
When Patriarch's Bidding resolves, each player gets to choose a creature type, then returns all creatures of the chosen type to the battlefield under his/her control.

Auto mode selects a creature type that's at least on one creature fomr the respective player's decklist, preferrably prioritizing the creature type that is prevalent among creatures from that decklist.

Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?

I confirm all bugs. For auto although it says choose elemental if you say yes it picks correctly (from creatures existing in your graveyard-nothing to do with Air Elemental)the choice with most creatures on your graveyard (possibly the best one).

EDIT:
about bug 1- I made a clean game and had no freezes at all.My guess is that Patriarch's Bidding is searching for 1 power and above creatures so Ornithopter s make it freeze.
Also at all times/choices you get to choose for AI but AI never gets anything back from graveyard.

Re: [still bugged]Patriarch's Bidding freezes game

When cast after whatever choice is made (and it doesn't matter) you are asked to choose a creature, if you do you are asked to pick a type and all creatures of that type are returned. If you click cancel you are again asked to pick a creature (so if there are no creatures on the bf you are stuck in an infinite loop) If you choose auto and one player's gy is empty you get a type choice screen with elemental listed.

I can't confirm this bug: you're asked target creature only if you select "pick from a creature" from the selection window, and that option appears only if there's a creature in play. So, or it's already fixed in dev or I cannot understand your bug report :(

Retested and still same issue, so lets see if I can be clearer.

Set up, put 2 Abominations (horrors) and an Advance Scout (human soldier scout) in play under player, and 2 Aisling leprechauns (faerie) and an Alpha Tyrranax (beast) in play under AI. Cast Wrath of God to put them in gy.

Cast Patriarch's Bidding. Get menu with 'auto', 'card list', and 'creature' as choices. Choose Auto. Then am asked to select target creature (see attached image), which causes endless loop since cancel doesn't work and there are no creatures.

Or: Cast Patriarch's Bidding and choose 'card list' option. After selecting Abomination you get type menu and select horror. Then you get asked for target creature and loop ensues.

Edit: still the same behavior in the October 11 minipatch.
