[fixed/closed]Raid doesn't trigger if attacker(s) gone

Postby Nexhro » 24 Nov 2014, 22:59

Describe the Bug:
A card's raid ability doesn't trigger if all creatures that card's controller attacked with that turn have left the battlefield before said card is played.

If for example I attack with two creatures with CMC 2 or less, both of those creatures die to lethal damage during combat, and I cast Timely Hordemate on my second main phase, Hordemate's raid ability won't trigger.

Which card did behave improperly ?
Cards with Raid

Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
KOT, duel

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
Raid triggers regardless of whetehr teh creatures that attacked that turn are still on the battlefield or not.

Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?

Global bug with raid only triggering when a creature deals combat damage, already reported.

I know you hate my savegames of late, but had you checked, you might have noticed that the player's creatures do indeed deal combat damage to the AI. Then sacrificing both of them to Dreadmaw's ability and play Hordemate afterwards will prevent Raid from trigegring.

Not a dupe and not limited to combat damage, me thinks.

Ah, I didn't understand what you were saying.

And I don't hate your savegames. It's just that you report so many damn bugs at once that I don't check them unless I need to, and as I thought I understood what you were saying I didn't (in the example you gave in your report no combat damage was done).

Hehe, I see. It was a bad example indeed. Unsummoning a creature that dealt damage will prevent Raid, too, btw.

The process of checking whether savegames are loadable and figuring out what card corrupted a particular savegame and then setting it up again takes some time. I could report more per hour if it wasn't for that. Just say the word ;)

Good thing I don't know where you live or violence might have come from that comment. :)

And thanks for sticking with it and keeping me honest.

And just as a question for the devs, but why don't cards with Raid use Rules Engine? I'd think they need to.
