[fixed/closed]Tribute to Hunger makes discard, no lifegain
by Nexhro » 05 Dec 2014, 03:58
Describe the Bug:
1) When Tribute to Hunger resolves, the targetted player is forced to discard a card and sacrifice a creature.
2) Tribute's controller doesn't gain life equal to the sacrificed creature's toughness.
Card worked fine in previous versions.
Which card did behave improperly ?
Tribute to Hunger
Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
KOT, duel
What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
No discard
Lifegain works
Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?

1) I'm not being forced to discard.
2) the prompt asks you to 'select a card' when it should ask you to 'select a creature to sacrifice'

AI seems to discard a card when being targetted, though.

A little more complicated. I have had AI discard a card and sacrifice a land at various times when targeted by Tribute to Hunger, but the effect is not consistent. For instance, the 1st time it is cast is usually (although not always) accompanied by a discard, then nothing extra happens, then a land gets sacrificed, then nothing happens, etc. No idea what is happening, but it isn't right.

Also 1 more bug is that it can target owner but it must target only opponent.
edit Gargaroz I have met another bug concerning AI and sacrifice and somebody else also mentioned weird AI behaviour about AI sarificing and being able to trigger other abilities so you may want to search the sacrifice mechanism (especially AI code) has it been developed lately?
edit2 I have seen AI few times managing to pay kicker cost for a Kavu Titan not when entering the battlefield but turns later as a result of AI playing Harrow and sacrificing a land to cast Harrow AI kicked the Kavu Titan.
Also that sneaky
AI corrupts the savegames so I can't have evidence of his crimes.

Apart from the stuff AJ reported which is not directly linked to this card, everything else is fixed in ab17978
