[fixed/closed]Gideon Jura messed ablities & bad prompts
by Aswan jaguar » 27 Dec 2015, 11:38
Describe the Bug:
Gideon Jura probably when fixing this:
and putting the abilities in prompt in correct order, according to what printed on card's text caused reversed abilities bugs:
1- If you select the 2nd ability "kill tapped creature" and there is a tapped creature on battlefield to enable it then Gideon Jura becomes a creature.
2- now if you select the 3nd ability to make Gideon Jura a creature it asks to "select target creature" and if there isn't a tapped creature you are locked if there is you kill it.
and some incorrect prompts:
3a- The second ability's prompt "select target creature" would be better and not misleading if it asked for "select target tapped creature".
3b- The second ability's illegal prompt when you target a non tapped creature is wrong = "Illegal target (tapped)" instead of "Illegal target (untapped)",
in parenthesis you have to state why it is illegal.
Which card did behave improperly ?
Gideon Jura
Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
Manalink 2015/12/25: Battle For Zendikar,duel
What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
1- 2nd prompt ability responds to 2nd ability
2- 3nd prompt ability responds to 3nd ability
3a- The second ability's target prompt should be "select target tapped creature".
3b- The second ability's illegal prompt when you target a non tapped creature should be "Illegal target (untapped)"
Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?

Fixed all but 3b in 5f97e5d.
"Illegal target (tapped)" has been the standard response since forever - try ; they identify only the incorrect state, not what the state should be, and they do it as concisely as possible to maximize the number of conditions that can fit. (Mind, displaying more than one unmet condition has been broken in Manalink for years and years, too.)
