[fixed]Fire Whip doesn't deal dmg from proper src

Postby Wally » 13 Jun 2020, 08:26

Describe the Bug:
Baron Sengir does not gain +2/+2 from dealing lethal damage but only from lethal damage dealt during combat. In attached savegame killing 1/1 creatures with a Baron Sengir enchanted with Fire Whip should trigger 2/2 gain as the damage dealt is a property of the Baron (from an ability of the Baron given by the Fire Whip ie "Enchanted creature has "Tap: This creature deals 1 damage to any target."

Which card behaved improperly?
Baron Sengir

Which update are you using? (date, name)Which type? (duel, gauntlet, sealed deck)
version 5-2020 10bda4ca0, duel

Re: [confirmed]Baron Sengir - only grows on combat damage

Postby drool66 » 17 Jul 2020, 20:22

Fixed in 1561237c4 ("Fix Fire Whip doesn't deal dmg from proper src", 2020-07-19)

Oh dear
The problem isn't Baron Sengir - he's actually doing a great job; the problem is Fire Whip... and probably most cards like it. They don't deal damage from the proper source, which should be the enchanted creature (though targeting is accurate).
I've fixed for Fire Whip; please report any others you find and I'll take care of those too.
