[not a bug] Rolling Thunder sets X to number of targets
by gnomefry » 09 Jul 2020, 20:09
Describe the Bug:
Rolling Thunder limits X to the amount of targets chosen, then divides damage evenly.
e.g., if you choose 2 targets, the amount payable for X is limited to (2), and it deals 1 dmg to each.
Which card behaved improperly?
Rolling Thunder
Which update are you using? (date, name)Which type? (duel, gauntlet, sealed deck)
version 6-2020 v3 a8bbff706 - gauntlet
What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction?
X can be as much as you have available and choose to pay, divided as you wish among targets.
Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug?
No.

It's limited by the amount of mana you have. You pay , select as many targets as you want up until you can't pay for any more (and you can cancel at any time), then you pay mana required for , and on resolution it deals 1 damage to each target for each time it was selected. Keep in mind the red "targeted" overlay is different from the "can't target" overlay. It's working this way in my version, including your save. Does this describe how it works in yours?
I did just update the spell to have both "Cancel" and "Done" buttons and update it to work with Redirect and the like.
[edit] accidentally committed these changes in 27f782aa4 ("Fixes to spells that change targets", 2020-07-09) - this should have been a separate commit

The latest images for Manalink will be here.
The latest Manalink installation directory will be here. Well, not quite, anymore. Check the latest patches.

Ah! I didn't realize that it was implemented with the targeting/distribution coming before the X payment. Knowing that, it is functional. Thanks, drool66.
