Describe the Bug:Makeshift Mauler requires that you exile a creature from your graveyard as an additional part of its casting cost. Nonetheless, the game lets you summon it with an empty graveyard just fine.
In a presumably related bug, if you cast it with a graveyard that has cards but only non-creature cards, the game will effectively hang -- you'll be repeatedly asked to choose a card, the game won't accept a non-creature card, 'done' won't close the selection window, etc. I was only able to get out of it by force-quitting Manalink. This bug can be seen in the attached save by waiting a few turns until you draw a
Lightning Bolt, then casting it on your opponent and trying to cast the Mauler.
Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)May 2013 : Planeswalking to Modern, from
this thread.
Solo duel.
What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?It shouldn't be possible to attempt to cast
Makeshift Mauler if you have no creature cards in your graveyard.
Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?Any other card with an additional cost to cast it, I'd assume, especially ones that require that you exile a specific type of card from your graveyard.
Chill Haunting,
Corpse Lunge,
Haunting Misery,
Headless Skaab,
Relentless Skaabs,
Skaab Goliath,
Skaab Ruinator,
Stitched Drake... it's a common mechanic.
EDIT: This was reported before
here last year, but is marked as fixed. Apparently it cropped back up.
