not a bug]Stingerfling Spider destroyed own flying creature

Postby etphonehome » 26 Jul 2021, 23:13

When Stingerfling Spider entered play it destroyed its own creature, Avian Changeling (the only creature with flying in play)

Maybe the code of Stingerfling Spider instead oy "may destroy" as a mandatory destroy, not optional.

This is not a bug and not very bad AI either.
Stingerfling Spider trigger for AI is mandatory as AI plays it better this way.
In this case AI evaluates it is better to have in play a 2/5 creature instead of a 2/2 one, which is not that bad, especially if AI had cast Stingerfling Spider after the flyer had attacked, like AI did in my tests and not before like in the screenshot. However AI sees it will win with his next attack so better finish the game with a 2/5 in play than with a 2/2 in play.

HI

But AI didn't have to destroy it's own creature, because the card says "you may destroy target creature with flying" and not just "destroy target creature with flying", so it destroyed a creature unnecessarily.

I know there is no perfect AI, but it the card is well coded...
