I have not looked at the set very closely. Which cards do you have in mind exactly? Gatherer is a mess anyway: Many cards are missing (e.g. THB borderless cards, or the famous "+2 Mace" from AFR), some cards (well, tokens) which used to be available got removed, some cards return an error when you attempt to query them, etc.

Looks very good to me when I compare it with the Scryfall PNG: All printing artifacts are gone, but the details of the illustration are still present. The text box does look whiter though. Not sure whether that qualifies as an issue.

It would be perfect if the text box color matched the real card. I would love to preserve the documentary function of HQ Pics as it was an original goal of the project, but I don't have a way to match them and without control of the process pipeline there isn't a way to ensure it.

Unless there is a demand to document what a real card looks like, I guess the most important quality is that the pic looks good. And for it to look good to me it should be sharp and clear, so it will be easily readable when scaled down to, say, a phone screen.

Somebody might be interested in seeing how some of our experts scanned and processed. You'll need VLC Media Player or similar most likely.

See attached.

In case that doesn't work try this one with more trackers, and be sure to enable DHT too.

Hi,
this project is great.
Now for Phyrexia, there are original hq renders in all languages available. I have already downloaded them for myself, so if they are relevant here, I can provide temporary download links.

Hi!

Magnet link on highres cards (91.2 GB)
Code: Select all
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:EHLJIUX6LYWEVBMPTTRAL4BQW7T2AGWA
Please note that some cards maybe absent or have lowres. Especially if they released after TSR.

I can't provide 24/7 uptime. But I can upload on file sharing some sets. For example, C21 etc.
I was just curious if anyone still had this by chance? Thanks in advanced.

Does anyone have an updated link to arcanistheomnipotent Database? The original link is dead!
I Aldo would like to find a mtg Database that:

-it's not TOO big (at most fills a dvd)

-has pt br version card language (not just eng)

The cards Also have flavour text (which i can't see in Forge or manabox.

Thanks for tour attention

This forum is kinda dead, isn't it?

For anyone still out there. My little XLHQ project is coming through. I'm on the last sets. That is, I skipped the old frame and most of the supplemental slop. So "last" is not really last, I need to go back :P . Talking about slop, oh boy, as I advance more and more through the last stuff sure it has became Slop: The Sloppening. My last contact with MTG was in 2014 or so, so imagine. And Aetherdrift is next, lol.

Whatever, now I'm here and it's good for my hoarding addiction. Also it's not all bad. Btw, Gatherer Extractor has a lot of problems with dual cards, double faced, etc, so there's quite some manual fixing.

Well, till next time. Hopefully I finish soon and I can make a torrent spanning 1993-2024. And then for yearly updates.

Unfortunately yes. Charlequin, who was collecting HQ scans has not posted here or updated the Mega folders in a long time. I am not even sure it even makes sense anymore anyway given the increase in set sizes and the fact that WoTC now posts HQ pictures online.

Could you provide more details about your project? It is not really clear to me what you are trying to achieve e.g. which sets you want to cover, which dimensions you use for cards, and which process you are using to get the scans. According to your screenshot, the archive weighs about 50Gb. Is that for 745x1040 cards published in English since 2014?

One thing I do not understand is why you need to use a Gatherer extractor for this. That database is notorious for being inconsistent and incomplete. The simplest solution to collect HQ card scans these days is to download them from Scryfall. They are missing a few things here and there, but not much. You can download their entire card database in a single JSON file (or break it down by set if you prefer to use smaller files), and process that JSON file with a script to download individual pictures. Just make sure you throttle your requests to avoid being blacklisted. That is what I did after the Mega folder stopped being updated.

If this question is directed at me, I can share some of what I have. I would need more details though, such as the format (PNG, JPG, or WEBP), the dimensions, the naming scheme to use, and the sets you are interested in.

For backward compatibility with the images published in the old Mega folder (and Forge), I am assuming something like 745x1040 JPG images with card names used as filenames (plus a number to distinguish between different versions of a given card). The main issue is that I don't know how to handle special characters (i.e. ', :, !, ?, etc.). Which naming convention does Forge use exactly?
