Two FNM scans. I know, these scans are not so good I would wish, but I was'nt able to get a better result. Latest FNM cards are not easy to handle. And different scanner leads to different scans. If someone is able to produce some scans with a better FNM logo (nearly white), so please do it. It would be very helpful.
...
Next will be some Japanese promo card scans.

That's what I was pointing out too.PresetM wrote:Are you sure that the scans look the same? Here are two exampleOtherwise an English The Dark card and an italian one will look the same once scanned, but we all know they were printed differently.
You see, my scans are different. That's what I mean when I say scans should closely to the cards. If you don't have my latest Dark scans (I have made them in March 2008) please PM me.

I said that if you "make the scans look nicer" you will loose the printing differences and Italian Dark were the perfect example

Yes, that is our charter, to exactly document cards as printed, not idealized versions.PresetM wrote:I like scans that comes close to the cards. Remember, this is a project for documentation of existing Magic cards. Not to produce nice pictures of the existing Artwork.

Magic Librarities seems out of date. Any news on these two promos? Gateway and JSS?
Is there an update list of released promo?
Thx

I have only one question. What monitor profile you are targeting for? I prefer to have light image with details visible in browser/generic viewer w/o color profile support and "documented" image in photoshop/color profile awared viewer if possible at all.PresetM wrote:So I'm alone.![]()

That's a good question for extreme.
The cards should look correct on a calibrated monitor, which I guess he must (and certainly should) be using, but is a rare thing for the rest of us I suspect. If us average joes want to see more detail we have to adjust our brightness and contrast to suit.

And foils will look different anyway no matter how you will tune your monitor
So IMHO it's better to have bright picture.

This temik speaks wisdom.
Not overly bright mind you, just enough so that the art is properly detailed.

I vote quality so I try tuning the scans.
The old foil scans are much better, I don't like the dark scans. Preview
