@extreme
I think you re-colored them too - they're under "/extreme/Commander 2013 - my take".

Looks like the card images I processed are still under the woogerboy21\commander 2013 folder on the contrib site.extreme wrote:yeah, what happened with those ? I did the oversized ones if I remember correctly.

Yup, I think I tried to reverse the selective artwork processing and some color equalization between cards.

Yea color equalization is something I'm still stumbling with. That and planeswalkers.extreme wrote:Yup, I think I tried to reverse the selective artwork processing and some color equalization between cards.
When you do color equalization is there any tips you can give? Do you overlay any images or anything fancy?
When you say "reverse the selective artwork processing" what do you mean?

I mean not processing the art and the border differently. About color eq, I just look at them in sequence full screen on black, and when there's a big enough difference, I usually see it and correct it accordingly. Unfortunately it's not easier to explain than this.

@woogerboy21
Basically, since you had processed the card artwork using a different levels adjustment than you used on the frames, extreme equalized the levels between both.
The reason is that your result is not consistent with the other 13,000+ images that have been processed by the CCGHQ team. Also, doing separate adjustments is a strike against our goal to reasonably preserve the appearance of the physical cards.

I see. Generally if the art imagery is dark the only selective processing done to the artwork is I select the artwork frame and adjust the center leveling bar up by .1 (so go from 1.0 to 1.1). This is done to correct the darkness of the image as it was complained about in the past when only doing the outer leveling adjustments for the entire card imagery.
I can stop doing that if you like, but as I mentioned it was complained about in the past that card artwork seemed "to dark".

Its fine to adjust the center leveling bar if it is needed. The adjustment should be applied to the entire card image though, rather than masked to the artwork. Part of the problem will be solved when you get your new monitor. Where you had been clipping the black-levels in the past, the darkness of artwork was exacerbated.

Speaking of a new monitor, they just rolled out new hardware at the office I work at and upgraded me to a couple 20" LED back-lit HP monitors. I haven't looked at there spec's or even tried to look at any of the card images on it but just doing my day to day work those monitors are BEAUTIFUL! If they work out for card images I may pick me up a couple for my house.skibulk wrote:Its fine to adjust the center leveling bar if it is needed.
