I'll get to work on these as well over the weekend along with the FTVRealms that I've been lagging behind on.

Question: I noticed that Grove of the Guardian has a green date stamp. I think this is the first time Wizards' has done that? I've seen gold on most of the older time stamps. More recently I've seen what appears to be silver. Are all of these datestamps foiled, causing the color differentiation, or do the recent ones just have special treatment? In the latter case, does anybody have a list cards with colors other than gold?

The dates let the foiling shine through, but some are definitely different colours than others. From RTR, Corpsejack Menace and Hypersonic Dragon look gold-tinted, Archon of the Triumvirate and Carnival Hellsteed look silver, and Grove of the Guardian actually does look like it's tinted green.

Edit: This is on the actual cards, not just the scans.

I wonder if this correlates to the type of promo or event each is.

Those were all prerelease cards, so that's probably not it. I think Grove is the first we've seen with a date that wasn't either gold or silver.

Maybe Gatecrash's prerelease promos will help us figure out the pattern, if there is one.

I have a binder of basically all regular promos (things fairly easy to obtain) since Time Spiral, when I started playing.
The prerelease date stamp was gold on everything, and starting at Shards, the release card also had a gold date stamp.
At M12, neither promo has any stamp at all, and the same thing with Innistrad. Dark Ascension brought back the stamps, and it looks like the prerelease card has a silver date stamp (over a gold-yellow background...), and the release one has a gold. Then, they ditched the dates again for Avacyn and M13. RTR you've mentioned, and the release card is gold again.

The colouring on the dates most likely has been changed for better visibility on these cards and/or to help with differentiating the different guilds. This is the first time we have seen green and considering they've been changing their minds every other set for the past year or so, I'm glad to see they stuck to keeping the dates now.

It looks like the scan on ebay might be better than the current one we have here after processing. The current card scan shows a fair bit of banding.
