Yeah, there's around four different foil treatments that WotC's used on cards:
Given that pack foils all fall in the first category, for the most part it's not really worth effort to preserve them; we already don't get through all the pre-release foils from post-KTK sets which are basically identical except with a date stamp. The one situation where we've made efforts to capture these is where they're different in some way from the regular pack cards -- Planeshift, Tenth Edition, and Unhinged all have some foil cards with different art, textboxes, or frames and we've processed and released those.
- The "standard" foil treatment for pack foils and many foil promos. With older scanner technology that wasn't seriously affected by the foil layer these just look like regular cards; with good newer scanners they have a luminosity variance that makes it clear they're foil but doesn't hugely change their appearance.
- The "intro pack" foil treatment -- similar, it just scans much darker by default, and they're all "promos" so we've got them all.
- The "starburst" treatment used briefly for Junior Series promos -- it's impossible to miss the foiling here and we've got all of these already.
- The "FTV" treatment -- this one is different from the other foils in a way that makes it look awful in scans because of serious color banding. These cards have all been released, though for many of them we'd be better off if we could get better source images (carefully posed photos or scans on old-tech scanners.)

Thanks for the complete explanation charlequin.
So I will find the foils inside the MEGA folders I found in your signature, or are they are to be searched and found around the forum ?
Thanks again and sorry if I bother.

The 10E and Unhinged foils are both in the More Releases folder.
On another topic: I've uploaded the seven intro pack variants identified by dragsamou upthread to the KLD and AER intro pack folders:

Presenting a release long in the making: images for the full set of Summer Magic a.k.a. Edgar, the ultra-rare variant printrun of Revised Edition from 1994!
Magiclibrarities has a great write-up on the set for those who aren't familiar with it, but the short version is that WotC tried to do a reworked version of Revised Edition which fixed many of the issues with that set (cropped-off bezels on the card frames, overly light printing, wrong color and art on Serendib Efreet, etc.) but introduced enough new mistakes that they wound up junking almost the whole run, causing a massive shortage of Revised and letting only a few cases of this set get out.
You can tell the set by its darker color printing and full bezels on the frames (both like 4th Edition) but a single large 1994 copyright line (more like Revised's):
The two most infamous cards from this print run are the Serendib Efreet (which has the right frame and art from its original printing, though it still miscredits the artist) and the "blue Hurricane," the card that made the exact reverse mistake from the Revised serendib:
It's also one of our last bastions of the most classic old-school art (in some cases being the nicest printing of some classic illustrations), so I wanted to make sure to show it off, like this set of cards from my very favorite Magic artist, the dearly departed Quinton Hoover (R.I.P.):
200 and 300 DPIs should be uploading as we speak to the More Releases folder. Enjoy!

You will have to wait about 2-3 months for that , it's a process that takes a lot of time.Bangheran wrote:1 August.. Where is the HOD HQ PICS?
In the meantime they will release Duel Decks: Mind vs Might and another scans that came out some months ago.
Anyway austinio7116 is working on a way to make HOU LQ images HQ'er , you should check his project out , as HOU HQ images will only be coming out a few months from now

Please nobody gather and post the images from Scryfall. They covered the costs to process HOU this time while Decked Studios covered the costs to acquire the scans for HOU. We have permission to share the images on August 4th. Charlequin may post additional info.
