Re: HQ PICS DOWNLOADS and Status List (MTG) 2013
Hey, new user having problems updating card art for the most recent blocks.
The problem I'm having is that, when downloading the HQ files, the "file extensions" are different and not in the format MWS recognizes (technically the "extension" is in the name, thus the quotes). So, for example, the correct format is Cardname.full.jpeg for the full art cards, but the HQ versions are called Cardname.xlhq.jpeg. This is why MWS isn't recognizing the files. I know this is the reason because 1) MWS' own guide for updating picture art says not following the naming conventions will cause issues, and 2) because when I change the ".xlhq" to ".full" the card art shows up in MWS as intended.
However, the problem with manually changing the file names is that I have like, ~1000 cards to go through and I don't want to rename the files by hand. So I tried creating a batch file to do it automatically for me, but had limited success. The way the .xlhq is appended to the card name before it seems to be messing with the batch script and I'm too terrible at writing batch files to figure out a solution.
I must be overlooking something, because this is a problem that seems way too obvious. Can anyone help me out? Surely there must be an easy way to change these file extensions or download them in the proper format, otherwise the creators wouldn't have named them that way in the first place.
