Scans from Legends and Arabian Nights - too bright?

Postby keatonic » 30 Sep 2014, 21:22

I was looking at the scans from Legends & Arabian Nights and they seem very bright in comparison to sets from that era, such as Unlimited or even Antiquities. Is this a color correction issue? Or were the cards actually this bright?

Unfortunately I don't have any cards from this era to compare, but looking at mtgimage com/set/leg/the%20tabernacle%20at%20pendrell%20vale.hq.jpg it seems really bright.

Also look at mtgimage com/set/leg/mana%20drain.hq.jpg vs mtgimage com/actual/set/2ed/ancestral%20recall.hq.jpg - the mana drain looks really bright, too.

I searched through the scans of actual products on abugames (abugames com/images/products/actualpictureitems/1294-Legends-Mana-Drain-NM-M.jpg for Mana Drain), but couldn't get a good idea.

Can anyone scan a Tabernacle or Mana Drain for comparison? Or even just look at one in their collection. Thanks.

it's not impossible, they were scanned a long, long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
