Did anyone try to make the Sorcerer's Apprentice card?

I am talking about the 5 Drake Stone cards... not sure if there is anyway to change a virtual low-res image to a hi-res proxy card image......

I am a new user and they don't allow me to post links, but that should be the 3rd result if you search Drake Stone from Google.

Any idea? Many thanks!!

If you can find the original artwork, I'm sure somebody could post HQCG renders. But last I looked, the original artwork was never posted.

oh... I thought the case would be similar to those for the ultra-rare promo card like Shichifukujin Dragon, in which there doesn't exist an original artwork to be processed (or real card to be scanned) but still somehow you guys can magically made a HD proxy image......

The artwork for that card is available here: http://www.magic-ville.com/fr/carte_art?ref=pmo009

in that case, is it possible to chop the low-res artwork from wizards website and render a hi-res card from it? of course in that case the card image will be a bit blur, but the card text would be crystal clear when print as a paper proxy and the little blur of the card image actually won't matter much when viewing in normal card size.

The other option is to figure out who the Kevin Smith is in the artist credits of those 5 cards in order to source potentially higher resolution versions of those images. I have a sneaking suspicion that these are just photochopped images that Wizards made in house which will prove a lot more difficult to source.

I agree with Nyth. They look like they were created by a senior graphic designer at WotC, one Keven Smith:

So everybody, please don't contact him. We do not want to grab WOTC's attention around here.

Ultimately, the only way to do this is to use the low res imagery on the link itself. http://archive.wizards.com/Magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/491

If you look closely, the backdrops to some of the cards are actually basic lands.
If anyone wants to recreate Kevin Smith's work, you've now got somewhere to start from.

But in all seriousness, I do believe that the content for those five cards has been added to the card.csv databases that some of the apps on here use, so if you really want to create proxies, you may have to rely on the images on the mothership and hodge podge something together.
