Legality of HQ card scans

Does anyone have any legal tips on how to prevent this kind of takedown? Obviously this forum has managed to avoid it as has magicards.info. Was the issue with cockatrice that they were distributing images AND a way to bypass MTGO?

We asked permission a long time ago. Magiccards.info does not directly offer image downloads. They are also a shopping outlet.

I think we should establish a "Fallback" forum, where we can temporarily congregate in the event that SlightlyMagic goes offline, for any reason. There are a lot of viable social platforms. Any recommendations?

We received permission to do something. It happened before my time so I don't have any details. I think Charlequin looked into it and said that the contact we had no longer works for Wizards.
