(showcase cards and extended too pls)

Thanks
you can acually upscale by yourself but you have to do it one at a time by hadding to
https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/a ... yond-death
get the cards from there and then go https://imageupscaler.com/
you can see the results here

Here is THB - remember to use the ZIPs to download to avoid any file renaming issues:

To compare against other posts above - here is the result from my GAN:

Here is an animated GIF to show the comparison vs the Gigapixel AI output - it clearly does better because it is trained specifically on MTG cards:

Because the scans are not always available straight away - also it's interesting from an academic perspective

Austinio7116, do you think you could also upscale the two alternate planeswalker in THB? Namely Elspeth, Sun's Nemesis and Ashiok, Nightmare Muse?

Edit: or not, I did it by using the link given by moumene04 and I have to say, the results are astonishing.

I might do them anyway for comparison when I have time.

Wow, yes, the imageupscaler wins hands down. Here is the same card:

That probably looks better than the printed card!

But the results depends heavily on the quality of the original picture. When using the official PNG pictures given by wizards, the result is good. I tried the same with a token with a jpg type taken from magicspoiler, and although it was the same resolution (265x370), it wasn't as good.

And you have to do it one card by one card...

Yes, I noticed the same, strange coincidence perhaps that it works very well at the resolution of the Wizards spoilers, just like my network

I think the magicspoiler cards have already been resampled/interpolated from a lower resolution, so they do not work as well as the network is expecting raw low resolution pixels.

For future sets I will be using the ESRGAN pretrained model with some extra postprocessing steps, this should give results similar to this animated gif:
Anax-Hardened-in-the-Forge.gif

This is the same model that ImageUpscaler uses

Great results! I can't say how much I'm impressed at the final quality, it's like it wasn't upscaled at all (except for the author's name, it's bad whatever the program used strangely). But do you intend to crop the 200dpi pictures as well? I always found they have a different size than the all the other pictures I have.
