Collectible Card Game Headquarters

I'm using mainly MSE (Magic Set Editor). But I had to improve the templates that already exist to reach a better resolution, with the resources of HDCardGen and 300 dpi scans (when available) by using Photoshop

And to improve the artworks (when necessary) I'm using Gigapixel AI and DeNoise AI from Topaz Lab (there are trial free versions, renewable each month).

Thx for the reply. It's kind of surprising to know you're using MSE. I should try to use better templates with it too. But where did you find the new card frame for the legendary cards? Did it come from Cardgen too?

My templates are heavily tweaked (MSE isn't designed for high rez), if you are interested I can upload a version of those. Cajun made a template with the legendary crowns, but the crowns looked weird at a higher resolution. I kept his code and made new crowns using 300 dpi scans and photoshop. Unfortunately the inner part of the Nyx crowns is made from screenshots found on Scryfall (not the best quality, but that's better than nothing waiting for the 300 dpi scans of TBD).

I see. If that don't bother you, why not. But if you want to find some good scans, without having to wait for the 300dpi scans, you should take a look at the upscaled pictures made by Austinio7116, or just upscale the cards you need by using this site. Although, for the last option, the quality of the original picture is very important: it's better to use scans from gatherer for a better results.

Here is the complete folder I use for MSE.

It's the "advanced" version, patched with some of Cajun's templates, and then patched by myself. I dropped everything in a .rar to be sure it works properly (didn't want to miss something I modified). The "Fonts" folder contains the fonts used by HDCardGen (which were missing for MSE), you have to install the "Beleren[...]", "Gotham Medium[...]" and "MPlantin[...]" ones. Then extract the rest of the .rar and you could be able to launch MSE. The folder "Sets" contains all the cards uploaded so far on this forum (plus some personal projects), you can try to open one if you don't want to be lost with all the templates included.

The two templates I use are :

- M15 Mainframe (M15 w/Text altering)
Used for all cards of "Custom reprints for old cards", except this one (you can see it's clearly not the same quality ^^...)
main path : MSE (advanced)\data\magic-m15-altered.mse-style

- M15 Full Text (M15 Full Text)
Used for all cards of "Custom full arts for lands"
main path : MSE (advanced)\data\magic-m15-full-text.mse-style

There might be some minor bugs here and there since it wasn't intended to be uploaded. But everything should work. If you have a question or if there's something that doesn't work well, don't hesitate to tell me

Some details I've almost forgot :

- MSE isn't great for the symbol of the rarity/set, so it's not included on the cards extracted from MSE (the ones I've made, but you can add a symbol if you want/need, I just don't like the result). I generate the card with HDCardGen, and crop and paste the symbol onto the card extracted from MSE with photoshop (it's a bit a pain in the ass to do, but I didn't find anything better...)

- MSE isn't great for justifying the text on some full arts (I think it's due to mana symbols in the text, and I don't know how to fix it), when it happens I fix the extracted card with photoshop.

And about upscaled pictures : I had already downloaded the ones from TBD and there's a bit of alteration in the process, I'd rather wait for the scans but thanks anyway !
