Thanks for the compilation of images, this come in handy prior getting the full HQ scan which sometime take times to get together.
I haven't seen any post on the M12 HQ scan yet.

Yea, there hasn't been anything posted about them yet. I know over the last few sets I have done the bulk of the scans. I don't know if anyone else has jumped in yet and done any but I just finished opening the 3 boxes I have and am short 2 rares and 5 others. I should probably have what I have now scanned in soon and will be ordering the other 7 cards shortly.Philature wrote:Thanks for the compilation of images, this come in handy prior getting the full HQ scan which sometime take times to get together.

Sound like good news! Hopefully I'll be able to help with the missing scan but I didn't buy this much booster this time around however

Im personally disappointed in the card value of this set. There seems to be a drastic price gap between rares / mythics. You may pull a single high priced card in a box and the rest of your rares are worthless (price wise). Im noy saying I like to see expensive cards, but I do like to feel that when I crack a $4.00 pack I have a decent chance of a return on investment.
Does anyone else feel this way about the set? Im guessing its due to it being a core set and not a whole lot of shiny new cards.

I think the market is still reeling from the recent ban of the Walletscalper and his stoneforge friends. Also, right now you can use both M11 and M12 in standard so there no rush to get into the M12 bandwagon yet.
I think Standard and Card Prices will settle with the new set release, players will get an idea of where they want to go with the new mechanic, they'll have to forego M11 and go all for M12 which I assume will mechanically fit better than M11.
Finally, the prevailling bad economy certainly not helping prices, a lower demand for new cards will reduce their prices. Also, I believe price are sticky (they don't go down as much as they should because of nominal regidity, you don't expect or think their value should go down). Because of stickness and nominal regidity, new cards are properly valued and old cards are overvalued.
Personnally, I don't really understand the low prices since M12 is a very good set with a lot of potential for red and white.

Until October, when Innistrad rotates in and Zendikar block rotates out. Core sets no longer rotate on their own.

Even though the HQ team is working on getting the M12 images processed (and probably will be done soon) I decided to work on processing my own version of the rare / mystic images of the set. This isn't really out of impatients, its more of a different approach that the HQ team takes. I generally create proxies to play in my local play group to either test or to simply allow me the ability to not have to deconstruct a deck that contains cards I wish to keep together for local tournament sake. Since I have scanned in the card images for the HQ team over the last few sets the original scans are the same base that the HQ team starts with but from there ALOT of things that differ. Being the first set of images I ever did there probably is a good number of things that I could work on but the main differences are as follows:
-Larger border frame (to replicate real cards)
-Larger image size (for better print clarity)
-Higher contrast adjustments (for better print quality)
-Higher saturation adjustments (for better print quality)
I have 2 forms of the images, the first in a larger pixel format making for better print clarity and a smaller pixel format to save space and give good print quality.
I was just curious if anyone would be interested in taking a look and letting me know what they thought and possibly make any recommendations on what else I might be able to do to improve the images (if any improvement can be made).
Let me know.
