Re: HQ PICS DOWNLOADS and Status List (MTG)
It highly depends on what you would call "confirmed by wizards" if you go by what wizards themselves use there are 2 options to easily get the codes for newer sets :Snacko wrote:All of the 3 letter codes from Alpha to 9ED have been confirmed by wizards and are 100% correct. The never ones where never confirmed (where do the wikipedia contributors take them from?) so you can't be certain they're correct.
The gatherer codes do not go trough any policy I suppose, as there are 2-3 letter codes and sometimes they're bizarre too ex. CG for Urza's Destiny (which comes from the codename Chimichanga)
1st: In Magic online wizards uses set abbreviations which can be found in those 2 files: Data\DO.xml for newer sets and Data\DOSets.xml for older sets.
2nd: on http://wizards.com/Magic/TCG/Article.as ... llproducts the gifs used for the list on the right "Limited-Edition Expansion Sets" used to display the expansion logo have the official set abbreviation in its names since the kamigawa block.for example worldwake (exp_sym_WWK_C.gif) and Rise of the Eldrazi (exp_sym_ROE_C.gif).
If wizards uses the abbreviations, i would claim they are confirmed.
