Is this misprint on every 10E "the hive"?

This card comes from a sealed redeemed box of 10th Edition. Because I don't have any other 10th Edition card, I cannot say if the card from booster shows this error too. Is there anybody who has an old HQ scan of this card? I think, the first 10th HQ's was made from booster cards.

These new ones are much closer to the real thing. They look less contrasty and saturated than the old ones, and are tinted differently. We know this and also understand that you may prefer the old ones. Never fear, I've left the old links in the first post. Now, if you have proof that the new ones don't look right, talk to us. We don't mind discussing or defending our methods. We all have the same goal, which is to produce scans that look exactly like the printed card.

Maybe it should be mentioned that Magic Workstation uses "CH" for Chronicles, not "CHR".

I was gonna start using three letter codes...for some reason I was thinking the masterbase had been updated. I'll change it back to two letters.

It seems that every copy of the hive is misprinted. I saw french copy with same misprint but I don't know for other languages.If someone can confirm this "worldwide" misprint ...

Thanks for the updated Chronicles. I like new ones more than old ones. I'm not a fan of too contrasted pictures.

Sorry again, I don't save any HQ pics anymore. So I have to recalculate the HQs from our xraws. Currently I don't have time for that, I have to scan three new sets (Portal, P3K, 6th).
Another problem is, I don't know what was the exact content of all the files...
But I think, someone in the forum should have all HQs.

In other words, there is a chance that Arabian Nights and Antiquities sets are NOT of the lastest versions, because the links have been posted before PresetM's original post about rescans, where he was not sure they are already released

Could someone please verify that the current pictures match the xraws you have?

Also it would be nice to (re-)release the mentioned scans of misprints

I really appreciate the effort that goes into reworking a set, however the Chronicles set color saturation is clearly not as accurate as the old version.

I pulled out my copy of Arcades and did a compare (I know monitors can vary with color quality) but the old color quality was spot on. The new color reminds me of pre-4th edition under-saturation, which Chronicles did not have.

It is the old discussion. Different monitors, different colors. I've checked the scans on my monitor against the cards and think they are ok. I have a modern LCD monitor (very good quality, and therefore not a cheap one), which shows colors very natural.

The new color reminds me of pre-4th edition under-saturation, which Chronicles did not have.

Please consider that Chronicles had severals print runs, every run with slightly different colors and saturation. I found in my box some cards that are darker and some cards that less darker (quality of the old cards was not very stable). And with a white border the old cards looks a little washed out than cards with black border. At the same time and with same adjustments I scanned Japanese Chronicles which have black borders. These scans looks more colorful but in reality the cards are nearly the same (except the border).
The old scans was made on my very old CRT-monitor which had a heavy color shift. The colors of the old scans are definitely wrong (not only Chronicles, all of my first scans were bad).
Some other thoughts:
- please look at the scans and the cards under normal daylight (not in direct sunlight). In the evening under lamplight cards and scans will clearly differ. And also in a darker room.
- please don't look only at one card. Look close to the whole set (because print quality varies in the early days).
- please don't verify the old Magic cards with the colorful new ones. These cards are worlds apart.
May be, this will help in judging the scans.
A last word: believe me, it is more easier to scan the new sets than the old Magic pearls.
