@nyth

Amazon.com User Ratings (their users may not be as picky as you will though)
HP ScanJet G3110 - 3 stars
HP ScanJet G4010 - 3.5 stars
HP ScanJet 5590 - 2.5 stars

There may not be anyone here on the forums who owns those particular models. Unfortunately you cannot always go by the specs with electronics either. For this reason, keep in mind the store's return policy. If one doesn't work out, you could exchange for another.

That's honestly what I was thinking with regards to choices. I'm not the hugest fan of Amazon/eBay reviews but I couldn't find out anywhere whether they had LED light sources which I was concerned about.

That said, they all have negative scanners and I do know that scanners that can scan negatives are capable of a lot more. The 5590 is a typical office scanner with an automatic document feeder which leads me to believe it won't be what we're looking for. There is a version of 5590 without the feeder but I can't find it here.

I think I'll go in for the G4010. If the worst comes to worst I can always use it to begin cataloguing all my negatives if it doesn't scan Magic promos well enough... I'll pop out later today and hook it up as quickly as possible and make some test scans...

Hello I'm from Taiwan
This is traditional Chinese card scanned by my EPSON V33

(sorry, but it says that I am too spamy....)

If the quality is OK
I think I could scan entire M13 in traditional Chinese.

Quality is OK. Entire set in Chinese will be awesome! If you decide to do it - PM me for FTP account details to upload the scans.

EPSONs are usually pretty good - I'm assuming you've already read Extreme's guide to scanning cards, the first post in this thread. I'd wait for him to chime in before you commit to the whole set - he's very good at spotting even minor issues and recommending settings for the best results.

We're looking forward to the whole set!

We'd appreciate the tips & tricks, fronts & backs, tokens too!

it's all good. A very good idea would be to scan them in collector's number order, cause we can't read Chinese :)

I just got hold of the RTR full FR set if that is of any interest. My question is always the same about it though: is it worth the time spent for non EN scans?

Also, does anyone has an archive of 5ED in HQ?

Thanks :)

If they're submitted, foreign sets will be processed eventually. (I'm helping Extreme process some ZHT cards now). Please contribute!

As for 5ED check the Magic Album torrent. We've got high quality ENG, GER, and ZHC.
