Hi guys!!! You've been made a wonderful work here. Everytime that a new set's been released, I think that every user of this forum waits anxiously for your scans. And maybe by that some among us, unintentionally, asks and pushes regardless your lives and/or works. Well, that's my way to say thanks to you and ask kindly about this special set and the Commander card images. Even thinking that you want to collect the sets in every languaje, most users (including me) will be really happy only with the english version.

Thanks for everything. Specially for those Promo and Box Set card images, most of them unknown to the community.

I thought about scanning these in and doing something with the set. Glad someone else did. Might save me some time LOL. Course I'm still working out the process using M12 and life kind of puts a ca-put on extra time lately. :(

No problem at all. I know I speak for everyone here when I offer my thanks for all the work done so far. I would also be willing to do the conversion if someone could give me a run down on the process used. I have photoshop 7.0.1.

Do you use filter>noise>median to get out the screening? If so how high do you set the filter?

I do not use photoshop so I am not certain how to use it. I know that extreme (and the other HQ guys) use photoshop to manipulate the images that get released through the HQ team. I only know of a few steps that are used.

The images that I've made in the past generally keep the screening so on print the images come out clearer. But to remove the screening you could use a couple methods. A blur would work.

Also I was curious what scanner you used to scan these iamges in with? I noticed your foil scans look not so good you might say. Regular cards look ok.

How's something like this look?

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/809/armillarysphere.jpg/

Imageshack looks like they resized the image slightly compared to what I have but you will get an idea. If you want I can process the rest of the set images.

Things I do differently than the CCG team.
-color level adjustment (for richer color)
-thicker border (keep true to the actual card size)
-true 600dpi (there released images are only 100dpi)

Now generally I keep the screening since I make most my images for printing proxy purposes but on this image I took the screening out.

Let me know if you want me to do the rest of the images.

Well this is not an official release from the HQ team but here is a version that I did up using the scans posted earlier (by aleph I believe). I couldn't do much with the foils. Mainly since I have never tried a foil. I may work on them a bit and see if I can improve on those 2 cards.

This should hold you over for a bit. I adjusted the images to better reflect something similar to the HQ team's release (compared to the examples I posted above.)
-screening removed
-resized to match there release
-slimmer borders compared to my previous examples posted

You can download the complete set at:

Looks like several of the white cards have some black bleeding in on the top of the card. Did you use the paint bucket to black in the border?

Edit:
I see them. Yea those are from an older version of the manipulation script I created and yes it did use a fill method to create borders. That doesn't work to well from testing various bordering methods. Gonna go back and correct things. Sorry about that.

Just to fill you in I have been working on a script that automated almost the entire process of producing the final image. The only manual steps so far that I have to perform is the cropping of the original image from the scans and then alignment of the crops. After that everything else is automated. It's a constant work in progress but so far I am happy with the results. I need a better method for aligning the images. I know the CCG team uses a perspective crop and alignment and I may have to re-investigate that method. I wasn't to happy with the results I was getting when I originally tried it.
