Hello there,

I was hoping to be able to get this from the Avacyn Restored promo cards download, but in light of the MediaFire account suspension, I would imagine that it is gone with all the rest of the archives.

Does anyone happen to have the HQ 480x680 image of the Moonsilver Spear by Nic Klein that s/he would be willing to upload so I can have it? MediaFire, DepositFiles, email, doesn't matter to me where it resides.

Thanks so much in advance.

Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it!

Have you considered creating a torrent of all the HQ images from Alpha to Magic 2013 (when it's ready)? I would be open to assisting with seeding.

I've never created a torrent before. Can torrents be dynamically updated to add new sets as they come out?
I wouldn't be opposed to using http://ark42.com/mtg/cards/ as the root of a torrent and seeding everything underneath that, but I'm not really sure how. Those files are all on a Linux server (CentOS).

A torrent can not be changed/updated once it's created.

That sounds like the wrong tool for this job then. It seems like there should be a technical solution that already exists that functions similar to a torrent, but lets the host of torrent add/remove/change files, and then people who re-join the swarm will only need to download the new or changed portions, while having removed portions deleted for them.

Even if there is not a P2P style program like it, I'd rather just offer 'rsync' access to that location on my server. That way when new sets come out, people would only be fetching the changes, not the whole thing.

Except that there are masses of people who download the entire collection every time. That's right, they'll download gigabytes of data to get the new 30MB set. No problem for them, bad problem for your server.

That's not how rsync works though. If I make the JPGs available via rsync, there is no waste on redownloads. It's generally a command linux Linux tool though, and probably most Windows users won't even be able to use it.

There's always DeltaCopy for Windows, it was fairly usable last time I tried it.

Yeah, but probably not as widely known as bittorrent for most general users.

Easy solution would be to make an rsync server. However it's not swarm based, but server client based. There are GUI tools for rsync on windows/ linux so it's quite easy to operate, however it's not as wide spread as torrents for general public.
