Magic game w/ adventure mode similar to Shandalar...

Postby PublicEnemy1 » 14 Jun 2020, 15:54

... but also has the new cards?

I know that Manalink USED to have that, but due to some apparent forum drama, that's no longer the case.

So is there anything similar to that? I'm a guy that's just getting into Magic, and I want to play an actual GAME rather than just a simulator, which is more good for testing decks, but not so good for an actual game.

Forge is the only other I know with adventure part. I haven't play it to give you more info.

Yeah, Forge is pretty much the only one I’ve seen too. It has the adventure/quest mode so it feels more like a “game” than just a deck tester. Not perfect, but it’s the closest thing out there right now.

If you’re looking for something closer to an actual game experience with up-to-date cards, you might want to try XMage or Cockatrice. Both let you play full games, not just goldfishing, and they usually keep up with new sets. XMage even handles the rules and triggers automatically, which makes it feel more like playing the real game.
