Is the MWS team thinking of scanning the new IDW comics?

We haven't discussed it. It's beyond our purview actually, especially since there are other groups who specialize in comics.

If any of those comics come with a unique pack in card, then the promos guys would sure be interested.

I own a good bit of the older MTG comics I could scan, give me a day or two and I can have a full list of what I have for you all to tell me what you would like. also I saw there is a store out here near me that finally started to carry MTG comics and I will be buying them as well

I'd love to see the older MTG comics.
