Here's the pre-8th configuration info from NMCG:

Code: Select all
[card generation]
card.tombstone = 1
card.multicolor.land.frames = 2
card.multicolor.fetch.land.frames = 1
card.basic.land.set.symbols = 1
card.dual.land.symbols = 1
card.rarity.fallback = 0

[fonts]
font.title = 34, Pre8th.ttf, color:255,255,255 shadow:true
font.type = 26, MPlantin.ttf, color:255,255,255 shadow:true
font.text = 27, MPlantin.ttf/MPlantinI.ttf, leading:45
font.pt = 36, MPlantinB.ttf, color:255,255,255 shadow:true centerX:true
font.artist = 22, MPlantin.ttf, color:255,255,255 shadow:true centerX:true
font.copyright = 13, MPlantin.ttf, centerX:true

[layout]
tombstone.left = 25
tombstone.top = 28
title.x = 62
title.y = 63
cost.top = 31
cost.right = 700
cost.size = 38
art.top = 86
art.left = 66
art.bottom = 572
art.right = 668
type.x = 62
type.y = 617
rarity.center.y = 606
rarity.right = 678
rarity.height = 42
rarity.width = 76
text.top = 648
text.left = 78
text.bottom = 928
text.right = 654
pt.center.x = 660
pt.center.y = 1000
pt.width = 111
artist.x = 368
artist.y = 981
copyright.x = 368
copyright.y = 1005
I don't know if it helps, just doing what I can. :)

Er, I don't know what NMCG is, but MSE isn't exactly lacking in frames. It's also open source, so we can figure out how they generate cards if we have to.

It's Nate's Magic Card Generator, and the quality of its output absolutely destroys MSE. If you go somewhere else to use resources from another app with inferior quality, when the best is right here, I will be nonplussed.

I've been using the DotP frames that were processed to work with NMCG (reborn as HQ card generator). They are indeed very high quality.

You used nonplussed correctly. :D

EDIT: Latest rendering code looks awesome!

Basically everything in that rendering is generated in real-time (including the textbox, W-U frame blend, and type-line).

Here's some new UI changes I've been playing with. See how many you can identify:

Mana is a pop up
Cards in hand are arranged lower right and smaller
Libraries look smaller
Creatures look like they meet for battle at the shared center line
Card frame - but that was obv. :)

After another 2 nights of work, here's my latest UI incarnation. Comments? Any suggestion where to put a chat box?

By the way, these are the images i'm using for the boxes.

If anybody can make nicer ones (they basically allow you to create arbitrarily stretched boxes with constant corners) please give it a go.

I think good position for chat box should be at the bottom of the windows, although then it's a problem of keeping chat history without scrollbar or writing on screen obstructing view of cards. However to play incantus I usually already communicate though other media, so chat is not essential.

Yeah, chat isn't essential, although I like to play the game full screen which makes it hard to switch to external chat apps.

Ah ok. In my case, if a game has the option to play in window, I play it in window, especially if the game is less complex and turn based. But yes, if playing fullscreen the chat would be needed. (although in most cases I speak mostly about connections, if that player is connected. (since wrathling has no reliable connection)

You missed the avatars? I'm disappointed. :)

Well, the screenshot that juzamjedi was responding to didn't have avatars :)
