The description on the executable says "Open source MtG game." Was it a plan for the future or previous plan that got scrapped?

It is still a plan for the future, according to incantus himself, but I don't know when or how ...

Probably when it's known that WotC won't be suing his ass.

In the meantime, if there's something you'd like to see added, feel free to ask and we can tell you how likely it is to be added. ;)

Source would just make it easier to add cards as the card editor isn't working for me even on cards that are simply copy-pasted with new names. Even with the limited card pool, this is still one of the best computer implementations of magic I've seen.

No, it wouldn't. I can't imagine a single way having access to Incantus' source code would make it easier to add cards. Easier to make cards, being able to reference code not used in pre-existing cards, but not easier to add cards.

Then you are doing something wrong. Exactly how are you trying to add cards to the game?

Well, it certainly does some things better than, say, Shandalar, but there are still a number of things it can't yet pull off. We keep trying to increase the number of things it can do, though.
