Want to Write?

Does anyone want to write a 200-500 word article about Incantus for my blog, http://mtgrares.blogspot.com You can describe why Incantus is so good. You should tell the readers how many cards does Incantus currently have and does Incantus implements tricky combat abilities like first strike and lifelink? I personally want to know what cards were the most difficult to program.

Incantus has a great user interface and I think more people need to know about it. You can post your article here or you can e-mail me (mtgrares yahoo com).

I could probably write something. I'm not sure exactly what kind of writing you want it to be, though. I mean, do you want it to sound like an overview, a technical manual, or an advertisement? ;P

It doesn't matter. Whatever way that makes the most sense. 200 isn't that much and even the relative max of 500 words isn't that long. I just want an overview of Incantus for my blog.

This is sort of a sample that I would write, if I was writing about my own program MTG Forge.

MTG Forge lets you play against a computer opponent using all of the rules. It has over 800 cards ranging from old favorites like Ancestral Recall and Lightning Bolt to planeswalkers. MTG Forge also supports such exciting modes as sealed and drafting.

When you draft, you are at a virtual table with 7 other computer opponents that are also picking cards. Each computer opponent creates their deck from the cards that they choose.

You can even edit which cards are in the booster packs that are used in sealed and draft. There are 3 files, "common.txt", "uncommon.txt", "rare.txt" which hold a listing of cards. If you don't like a card you can just delete it.

And for those people who hate building decks and who just loving using new cards, there is a "Generate Deck Option" that creates a 60 card, 2 color, 24 land deck. You don't even know what decks you are using and each game is exciting. So download and try MTG Forge today.

Ah, so you want an advertisement. ;)

Yeah, I'm a little busy at the moment (with Incantus itself, actually), but it'll be no problem as soon as I get a free minute.

I used to write all this kind of stuff, but I've taken a vacation for now.

The point is to make the reader want to use the app you're writing about, I think cool screenshots help. It takes some enthusiasm for using it on your part, and it's easy to be enthusiastic about Incantus.

Once they want to use it, make it easy with the links and a description of how to play. It would be easier if Incantus included a play guide, but I don't think it does.

they've worked on a new UI, which has a menu for starting a new game, and it would be easy to include a help file.

If you guys would like to write these articles in a larger format, I can offer a reader base as well. Magicdeckvortex.com has a small, but resilient reader base that actually has a thick group of talented people. Some of which who might be 'interested' in offering a helping hand to a worthy cause.

I am not offering advertisement space, I am saying that if you wanted to write a full length article outlining the program, how it works, what went into it, etc, that I'd be willing to run it through the editor process and get it published. :) Full length for us is 1800-2200 words.

That would be cool, but ol' Incantus is going to have to decide just how much exposure he really wants. :?:

Make your own game and just use the engine of Magic.
